icejam
i've always hated by filipino teachers, i don't see any sense in relearning the spelling of "chocolate" to "tsokoleyt" when almost all filipinos knows "chocolate" english for me as well. Quote Link to comment

iamthebest747
Mas magaling talaga ako sa English. Baka dahil hindi ko talaga first language ang tagalog, the dialect filipino is mainly based on. Sori, taga-Visayas ako e. Medyo nalanguage shock nga ako nung lumipat ako dito sa Manila for High School e. Hehe. Quote Link to comment
MiG-29C
In high school and college, I faired better in English although my grades in Filipino were good too. I had a hard time with the pronounciation and the Filipino way of spelling certain words with no Tagalog equivalent. Some words are queer and "malalim" too. For example: chair = salumpuwitstateside = esteytsayd Basta my only Waterloo back then was Math. Inaantok ako! Hehe! Quote Link to comment
nightingale
got straight 1 in all Filipino subjects in college (though i found english literature to be more interesting). Quote Link to comment

redshirt
Im better in english but my grades are higher in Filipino. I believe that the English teacher ( who I believe is a douchebag! ) has a personal vendetta against me. I mean 1st to 3rd Yr. HS I always Faired well in English (80+) but in the 4th Yr. i only rated like 78 that bitch ruined my chances of a better college! FCUK!!!!! Quote Link to comment

BreakAndInsert6977
English. Sadly, where I studied, Filipino isn't taught with as much emphasis as English. Detestably, it was once rumored that a former schoolmate said that Tagalog is the language of maids and drivers. I'd punch him real good tapos iiwan siya sa gitna ng Tondo and have him say that again. >:c Edited June 7, 2007 by BreakAndInsert6977 Quote Link to comment
Cinemappostle
Except for Palanca short stories or plays, I prefer to read texts in English kasi mas maikli. Yung Tagalog, masyadong polysyllabic and words. I believe mas magaling ako sa subject na English kaysa Filipino. But I write in Filipino as decently as I write in English, to be sure.
