Living Abroad Vs Living In The Philippines?

Lived in Japan for two years... did everything alone.

Had Business Trips in the US

Had a Fairly long vacation in the UK

Here is the thing, it's ok to live alone as long as all the conveniences are there. Near the supermarket, near the bank, you have a washing machine.

And it's much more convenient if you do all daily routine with people you live with.

Usual routine when living alone: Cook, Clean, Wash the Dishes, Do the Laundry, Iron Clothes, Take out the Trash, Buy Groceries... Rinse, Repeat (Hehe!)

The problem for Americans is that US Medicare does not cover retirees abroad. The equivalent of Medicare coverage in Pinas is Php65K per year. 20 years from now and for a period of 20 years thereafter, that would be about Php200K per year. So, Americans would lose all the money they paid to Medicare and on top of that, in 20 years from now, they have to shell out an average Php200K to pay a Medicare-comparable private health insurance.

If you have a stable job or business in the Philippines then that is an ideal situation that does not require one to leave and work abroad. Pero kung ang habol mo naman is ung peace of mind na lalaki ang mga anak mo sa isang bansa na maganda at malakas ang ekonomiya na madaming benepisyo like healthcare, education and retirement, then sad to say I would rather be somewhere else if at all possible, like Australia. Ofcourse some people have dual citizenships which makes everything convenient.

If you are a Filipino and you belong to the top 1% of the socio-economic class population, you can live anywhere in the world and it's gonna be the same for you. Your money will afford you to buy everything you want whether material things or services.

If you are in the top 10% of the socio-economic class population then it will be better to stay and work or do business in the Philippines. Your status in the Philippines, will still be better than a middle class existence in a 1st World country in North America, Western Europe or Australia & NZ. Whatever material things you can have there, you can also have it here and living conditions will even be better because of cheaper cost of services.

However, if you belong to the lower 90% of the socio-economic class of the country, you are definitely better to go abroad to any 1st world economy nation and look for your fortune there. Your low or even middle income existence in a First World nation will still be better than your living conditions in the Philippines. In a First World economy, you will be able to afford own your house and a car with just having a job. It may require you to work in 2 or 3 jobs but it will be possible which is almost impossible or non-existent if you work in the Philippines all your life. Not unless you are a PACQUIAO (magpapabugbug ka) or a NAPOLES (magnanakaw ka sa kaban ng Bayan) o maging ARTISTA o POLITIKO ka..
