tombone
Buying stock now a day is very selective , there is a lot of pump and dump in the market and is easy to get trap in a high price , the market still can go up some more maybe above 7500- 7650 area this quarter. Quote Link to comment

abduljackolsalsalani
In my 27 years of trading stocks, I believe its better to buy a stock after the ex date. The stock price dips at that time and you can buy more stocks as compared to buying stocks before the ex date. The stockmarket is a little bit shaky in the present administration. Even stocks fall so fast through its price support level that sometimes you can't cut your losses even at 2-5% range only. For those who are interested, I suggest you learn technical analysis. It will help in your decision making. My stocks SMB, SM,TFHI, Megaworld, Empire East, BDO, MPI, PLDT, Globe, Vista, and DMCI, and Petron. Quote Link to comment

Saitama88
Hi i want to learn how to play in stock market, any guidance Buy books regarding trading and stock market. Try reading the trading code by jason cam. It can help you start in Stock trading. And good luck. Not all traders become rich. So be careful on "playing in the stock market." Quote Link to comment
rontan2014
I have very little position in the stock market these days. Only IPO of WLCON. It's doing well so far though too early to tell the resiliency of that stock. I'm studying the forex market nowadays. However, stock market is easier due to its upward bias and no shorting. If you wanna play with stocks, these are the standard books for many years: The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham (mentor of Warren Buffett). This is the bible of value investing using purely fundamentals. How To Make Money In Stocks by William O'Neil (mentor of David Ryan). This is the bible of growth investing using both fundamentals & technicals. Market Wizards by Jack Schwager. This is the bible that inspired a generation of traders & money managers. abduljackolsalsalani
There are seminars being held by some certified financial advisers and brokerage firms. I believe Bo Sanchez has a website on stock investing. You can either attend a seminar or read books. You can read the book entitled chupitero sold by a bookstore on the 5th floor of SM Mega Mall. This will give you a glimpse of how the Philippine Stock Market works and what affects it. There is also a series of books by Marvin Germo which can guide you in your initial phases of your stock trading growth. I prefer reading local books as compared to foreign ones because most local books had studied and researched on the Philippine Market setting. Market modifiers abroad may not affect us the same way it does abroad. Advise to those who would like to enter the stockMarket, study first and don't rely on heavily on recommendations by your broker. Take everything with a grain of salt and develop your own stock market goal checklist to maximize your profit. For me I take a look at the company data EPS and PE ratio and make an analysis of the current government directions, possible environmenta/societal sentiments and sustainability. nytcr4wl3r
Learn TA first (technical analysis, not tits and ass - I'm sure master na natin yun). I agree na EPS and P/E ang miinumim basis for buying a stock. I prefer Nasdaq for the tech stocks, e.g. unicorns. Edited May 12, 2017 by Rebel_Yell Quote Link to comment
pendongpeace
I think fundamentals muna... learn technicals kung kailan best entry and exit points. EPS and P/E is fundamentals right? Technicals is yung mga MACD, MA20-100, Candle Sticks etc Quote Link to comment

HunkDavao
Ito ung gusto kong matutunan. Parang casino din ba ang stock market sugal din ba. basically BUY and SELL . may nakita kang murang kotse, 100k, binili mo.. feel mo kasi dapat nasa 120k yun... maya-maya, may naghahanap ng ganun na kotse, gusto nya bilhin ng 110k .. so ginawa mo, nag- 'match' ka sa gusto nyang 110k kumita ka ng 10k! all this in an automated manner with all the security and policies in effect to safeguard investors Quote Link to comment
Saitama88
^ Interesting.... how to buy and sell stocks? Sino stock broker niyo? Basics naman dyan.... kung paano mag buy pwede ba cash, credit card or check? And then procedure for selling stock? Goodluck. Quote Link to comment
HunkDavao
^ Interesting.... how to buy and sell stocks? Sino stock broker niyo? Basics naman dyan.... kung paano mag buy pwede ba cash, credit card or check? And then procedure for selling stock? Gusto ko rin ma try kahit small amount muna. I have a BDO Nomura.. it's easy to open one as long as you have a BDO Online account existing. If no BDO, open a savings account sa SM, lahat ng SM may BDO branch. Once you have a BDO Online Account, you can go to BDO Nomura site, login using your BDO Online. Then you need to fill up some online form. 1 day transaction lang lahat to OK na. Minimum amount to start is 5k. pero that's not ideal. Marami kasing stocks na malakas ang trading nasa 50 above. so at 5k, 100 stocks lang pwede mo mabili, less charges pa ng nomura. I suggest deposit 20k.. better 100k if you have it. THEN.. don't buy anything agad. DECIDE first if you want to invest (long term)? or you want to trade (short term)? if gusto mo talaga mag-laro ng stocks, trading yun. So eto yung you will speculate what Stock/Company will appreciate in price in the short period like 1-3months. example: yung gf ko binili ko ng 200 units ng URC at 163 yung pera nya mga 2 weeks ago. last Friday, may mga buyers at 170 na. So binenta namin.. 7pesos income per share... x 200... 1400 in 14 days. Ngayon, ang URC balik na sa 164. So, Speculation talaga.. and monitoring.. Don't buy anything agad dahil magaganda articles sa news. Check mo muna ano price history rin kasi baka the stock is at it's High Peak like EAST WEST Bank now... its at 25.. historical highest price to. You dont buy when a stock is HIGH (unless you speculate na it will go higher pa in the next 6 months) Quote Link to comment
HunkDavao
isa pang example ng mabilisang pera EAGLE Cement. nag IPO (Initial Public Offering) today. Nag start sa 15 ang price nito, marami agad nagpareserve weeks before pa. Millions of shares .. 930 open ang market, 15peso.. dahan dahan umakyat .. 15.1 , 15.2 , until nag 16 around 1030am ! yung mga EXPERT, benta na agad at 16.. if may 1mil shares sila, they just earned 1Million (1peso x 1 mil) in a span of 90 minutes.. ngayon 1pm, EAGLE is at 15.4 , bumagsak na.. so yung nag BUY at 16, they just lost 600k if they bought 1 mil shares. tingnan natin what will happen ngayong hapon. will EAGLE go back sa opening price na 15? or lower? rontan2014
Sayang hindi ko inabulin yung LSI offer nila but will buy via my broker: 2TradeAsia. I like this broker, very fast execution & walang aberya. At 15.4, people who bought already may reload. Ako bibili pa lang. Long term play. Quote Link to comment
