Nikon headquarters announced last year that production of D40x will stop in December 2007 to make way for the D60. However, orders for D40 will continue and remain Nikon's entry level unit until further notice. CDSC or some stores may not have enough stock of D40 at times but does not mean it is phased out, but D40x is. I don't know yet when I will be able to buy. I still need to pay off some debts; october or december perhaps. Edited June 19, 2008 by kikmeister Quote Link to comment

hotdoggie
hey guys, got myself a D60 from singapore.. my bro bought it there for 1k singaporean dollars. with 4gb memory card, bag, kit lens, etc.. my question is.. i wanna learn photography.. you guys know of a photography class that i can enroll in? checkout this site: http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph/index.php Quote Link to comment
magnesiums
just my thoughts... i got myself few months ago a Nikon D60 kit. I was really planning on getting the D80. For a newbie, the D60 is a nice decent DSLR. Get to know the cam better. oh i got the kit for 29.5k with the kitlens, 2gb, bag and UV filter, (CDSC). The D80 back then was at 48k. And there are rumors of a D80x or a D90 coming late this year. Was pretty happy with the cam. For me, d60 is nice.. just give it some toys to play with. Some nice lens (a wide, a telephoto and a micro), some nice filters (cpl, nd's, ir's.. or even close ups).. plus a decent tripod and you're good to go. The auto focus issue on old lenses for D60... its not a biggie for me. Trust me.. its not that hard to manual focus. They say, nice pictures should be credited to the photographer and not to the camera.... just my thoughts.. Quote Link to comment
