hi gideon, im planning to buy nikon d90 okey ba ito for beginner anong counterpart sa olympus? do u have any idea? how much ang price range dyan sa pinas?

There is yet no Nikon D90. If your looking for a DSLR for beginners, that would be the current Canon 450D, Nikon D60, and Olympus E510.

Canon 450D : 36-37k (kit)

Nikon D60 : 29-30k (kit)

Olympus E510 : 47k (dual lens kit, 14-42 and 40-150) (not sure about single lens package)

i called henry's recently, the Nikon D40 kit is now 21.5k with 2gb SD and bag.

i may just buy a Nikon D40 instead. only because its more affordable.

Yup, pwede ang card + cash.

Mas maganda kung more than 60% ang Cash mo para hindi ganun kalaki ang 6% add-on.

Lumabas na ung D60 ......

Paubos na ung mga stocks ng D40 and D40x

Question:

ANo ung value-add ng COLUMBIA warranty versus STORE warranty ...?

mahal din kasi ... how many years ung duration?

21.5k nga ang D40, just called un mga shops sa hidalgo.

is that true ba mga idol na pa-phase out na daw D40 & D40X?

sa columbia phased-out na daw...

Nikon headquarters announced last year that production of D40x will stop in December 2007 to make way for the D60. However, orders for D40 will continue and remain Nikon's entry level unit until further notice.

CDSC or some stores may not have enough stock of D40 at times but does not mean it is phased out, but D40x is.

I don't know yet when I will be able to buy. I still need to pay off some debts; october or december perhaps.

just my thoughts...

i got myself few months ago a Nikon D60 kit. I was really planning on getting the D80. For a newbie, the D60 is a nice decent DSLR. Get to know the cam better. oh i got the kit for 29.5k with the kitlens, 2gb, bag and UV filter, (CDSC). The D80 back then was at 48k. And there are rumors of a D80x or a D90 coming late this year. Was pretty happy with the cam. For me, d60 is nice.. just give it some toys to play with. Some nice lens (a wide, a telephoto and a micro), some nice filters (cpl, nd's, ir's.. or even close ups).. plus a decent tripod and you're good to go. The auto focus issue on old lenses for D60... its not a biggie for me. Trust me.. its not that hard to manual focus. They say, nice pictures should be credited to the photographer and not to the camera.

... just my thoughts..
