  1. FROM A WELLNESS LITERATURE:

There's a better approach to calorie burning: Choose an activity that you can sustain for a good while — say, at least 10 or 15 minutes. Sure, running burns more calories than walking, but if running wipes you out after a half mile or bothers your knees, you're better off walking.

Table 1 gives calorie estimates for a number of popular aerobic activities. The number of calories you actually burn depends on the intensity of your workout, your weight, your muscle mass, and your metabolism. In general, a beginner is capable of burning 4 or 5 calories per minute of exercise, while a very fit person can burn 10 to 12 calories per minute.

The table includes a few stop-and-go sports such as tennis and basketball. Activities like these are not aerobic in the truest sense, but they can still give you a great workout and contribute to good health and weight loss. The numbers in this chart apply to a 150-pound person. (If you weigh less, you'll burn a little less; if you weigh more, you'll burn a little more.)

  2. A BIG 27-point win by Ginebra.... Sa wakas nakakuha rin ng matinong import ang Ginebra.. A double-double(19pts, 19rebounds) despite a limited minutes, maganda rin naman kasi nilaro ng mga locals especially Jayjay Helterbrand. Yes, buhay na uli si Helterbrand with 17 pts, 8 assists, 3 steals as he capped the best player of the game honor... Next stop----

    ALASKA ACES...

Miller should psyche himself and 'take it up a notch' on his performance to redeem himself and prove to all and sundry that Ginebra got the better

end of the trade deal with him and Skyrus. This is his moment of redemption...and pag naging factor siya mabubura ang majority perception na mas nakinabang ang Alaska kaysa Ginebra. But, of course, coaching (play execution, rotation, and swift reaction and adjustment) and import (defense, coherence with teammates, and hardwork)presence will play a major factor. Pero magandang sidelight yung 'trade deal'

Let's wait and see...and hope for the best!!!

  3. My fave of all time (distributed and non-x movies):

    '9 1/2 Weeks' (1986)

Sure, adventurous New Yorkers John (Mickey Rourke) and Elizabeth (Kim Basinger) have sex -- a whole LOT of sex -- but it's the foreplay that gets us all riled up. Strawberries, olives, pasta, Jell-O ... they're all just props in service to the couple's creative eroticism; the scene in which he blindfolds her and melts ice cubes on her naked body does the opposite of cooling us down. Ah, food: It's not just for dinner anymore.

    Ahh!, Soo Sexy and sensual...

  4. Body Heat' (1981)

'Double Indemnity' and 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' are undisputed classics, but let's face it, they're sorely lacking in strong sexual content. Enter Lawrence Kasdan's 1981 retooling of 'Indemnity,' fittingly dubbed an "erotic film noir" (greatest subgenre ever?), a film that's steamiest scene found William Hurt breaking and entering into a seductively red-skirted Kathleen Turner's quarters before romancing her stone as a humid Florida night gets even hotter.

  5. 'Wild Things' (1998)

What's the only thing better than hot, nubile young things Denise Richards and Neve Campbell stripping naked and getting it on with Matt Dillon? That's simple: Richards and Campbell stripping naked and getting it on WITHOUT Matt Dillon ... in a swimming pool ... dripping wet ... after trying to drown each other ... in a film that also stars Kevin Bacon and Bill Murray. One word: genius.

  6. 'American Pie' (1999)

Apple pie, once the purview of moms and church picnics, gets a horrifying and hilarious makeover once Jim (Jason Biggs) decides to test the theory that getting to third base feels "like warm apple pie." (By the look on his face, we're guessing he likes it on third.) The unrated DVD version is even more explicit: He climbs up on top of the kitchen island to finish the deed. But we have to admit, the missionary position seems a little, well, tame for baked goods, doesn't it?

  7. Monster's Ball (2001)

    Directed by: Marc Forster

Starring: Halle Berry, Billy Bob Thornton

"Make me feel good," the long-suffering Leticia (Halle Berry) begs prison guard Hank (Billy Bob Thornton), who, among other things, presided over her husband's execution. The line has been frequently lampooned, but seen away from the glare of its initial hype and Berry's Oscar, her plaint has a raw reality. And the ensuing sex scene is one of the frankest explorations of lovemaking as catharsis the screen has ever seen.

  8. If you want high energy vibe- Metrowalk is it! It has open air restos, coffee shops, and themed eateries reminiscent of the Paris boulevards, and with ‘better than most’ bands playing live at their central promenade when dusk hits the day’s end. It’s the hipper version of the good ‘ol Malate. There are no junkie restos (McDo, KFC, Jollibee, Greenwich, etc.- the closest there is the Pancake House) here to preserve its mood and ambience. If you hate the noise at night, you could try their dark and cryptic bars (The Elbow Room, Aruba, Mugen , etc.) and just chitchat the night away or play pool and cards.

The Fort, has the best clubs (upscale, famous, and infamous- Embassy, Ascend, Piedra, Amber, Hierarchy, and Prince of Jaipur) ‘though. But there in The Fort, a lot of eyebrows will be raised if you’re overheard mumbling ‘tangna’ instead of ‘pakshet,’ ‘galing’ instead of ‘cool,’ ‘sexy’ instead of ‘hot,’ ‘ulol ka talaga’ instead of ‘you’re so gross,’ and many more. Kaya mas malamang na outcast tayo (at least, am speaking for myself) dyan. Its crowd is from the well moneyed and mannered to the rich spoiled brats. Less jologs maddening the place but too pricey! But if you want to impress your date and/or company and have some bucks to burn, this is the place.

Eastwood City is a child friendly place. Laidback and highly architectural, but the crowd’s mix- it has no character of its own. Maybe because it is surrounded by condos, call center offices, multinational companies (Citibank, IBM, Megaworld, etc.), digital cinemas, spas, and mixed –use trendy mall (ala The Podium and Power Plant Mall). Most of its events are centered for children and family. Just like Greenbelt, it’s also great for dating. Greenbelt’s advantage ‘though is its greener environment and trendiest dining places to feast on an endless variety of cuisine. So kung kain mode, it’s Greenbelt.

(the above discourse are just my opinion)

  9. Gilas signs up Douthit as 'import'

By Joey Villar (The Philippine Star) Updated June 29, 2010 12:00 AM

    Marcus Douthit. JUN MENDOZA

    | Zoom MANILA, Philippines - American Marcus Douthit yesterday agreed to undergo the naturalization process to become a full-pledged Filipino after he signed a one-year contract that would allow him to play for Smart Gilas in various international competitions, including the 2011 FIBA-Asia Championship in Lebanon, a qualifier for the London Olympics.

“Yes, it’s Douthit,” said Smart Gilas team manager Frankie Lim after yesterday’s contract signing between the former Providence standout and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, headed by Manny V. Pangilinan.

  10. Here's a quide you can follow to help flatten your stomach. Print this list out and post it somewhere in your house where you'll see it.

    1. Walk/jog for 30 minutes at least 3 times per week to boost your metabolism in order to burn that fat.

    2. Eat a small handful of almonds (at least 6) every morning. Almonds are one of the healthiest snacks you can eat and the protein is good for burning fat.

    3. Purchase a Pilates DVD and do the exercises at least 2-3 times per week. Pilates works on toning your entire body with concentration on your powerhouse (middle section) and will improve your flexibility.

    4. Add fiber to your diet and cut down your intake of the bad carbs. Foods such as white bread, pastas, potatoes, and white rice should be limited. Eat brown rice and whole wheat bread instead. To get that needed fiber increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables (especially the leafy green ones).

    5. Drink skim milk instead of whole milk. Keep your dairy intake at a minimum because these products often cause bloating and gas.

    6. Perform proper crunches at least 3 times a week to train your abs. It's better than sit-ups because they really do very little to firm your stomach. Sit-ups work your hip flexors more than anything else.

    7. Drink plenty of water. You should be drinking 6 to 8 glasses per day. Not only will it help fill you up so you eat less, but it aids in digestion.

    8. Stop eating within 3 hours of bedtime. If you have to munch on something, eat a small portion of vegetables or fruit. Not eating late can make a huge difference.

    9. Eat smaller meals more often instead of 2-3 big meals per day to keep from having that bloated look and feeling. Eating more meals actually kicks up your metabolism.

    10. Take a break from healthy eating once in a while and treat yourself to your favorite dessert. If you completely deprive yourself of the foods you love you'll run the risk of going back to your bad eating habits. Moderation is the key.

Just remember that slow and steady wins the race when it comes to slimming your waistline and flattening your stomach. There's no such thing as losing your stomach fast. You have to work at it daily and remain consistent with your diet and exercise.

If you remember nothing else, remember this: A flat stomach comes with TOTAL BODY FITNESS - not just from spot toning your stomach with crunches.

  11. TALO NA NAMAN, 101 -83 (B-Meg Derby won)

Post Analysis (Ginebra's negatives, in my opinion/observation):

    1. lack of chemistry and coherence (may be due to various player acquisitions/movements and virtually new import)

    2. no play patterns (or meron but di sinusunod- poor coaching)

    3. madalas 3-guard cast on the floor (low ceiling plus only Villanueva, Hatfield, and Wilson- all relatively small- play big)

    4. Intal and Celino Cruz have not or cannot bring in their A-game

    5. import Brown and Caguiao almost always look to score

    6. poot team defense
