    Japan 3 1

    Qatar 3 1

    Iran 3 1

    Philippines 2 2

    Chinese Taipei 1 3

    India 0 4

    Remaining games in the Group:

    Iran vs Qatar

    PHL vs Taipei

    Japan vs India

Should Taipei win and if ties are broken via the winner over the other rule its the end of our campaign. To avoid further complications, its a MUST WIN game for Gilas.

  2. Baka nga nagsisisi na si Toroman.

Honestly, I don't think so ... I don't think a coach of his caliber will deliberately do what some guys were insinuating (to hold off against Iran sa Prelims para sa Finals na lang ilalabas un tunay na laro).

Pati yung post ko kay Olsen pinatulan.

Did you even bother to consider that Aquino is a has-been? It wouldn't hurt to add another big man in Douthit. Maybe you should be the one who should show me clippings since you're the doubter. Then maybe I'll believe you. I'm just saying what I know that he was naturalized so the USA got him to already augment an already strong Olympic team.

Come-on, it's either you're serious about your post to include Olsen or you're just posting a lot of non-sense here to add up on your number of post by suggesting Olsen kasi.

Ikaw na rin nagsabi na si Aquino is a has been. Don't you think something is WRONG?

  3. A heartbreaking loss ... in hindsight defensive lapses did us in. On a critical possession we have hatfield playing Center and willy wilson as the PF against a tall SMC frontline. Then again,we still had our chance to win had not for a repeat of the last play in our lost to SMC. Si Miller na naman ang last play against a tall defender in Santos.

But despite the loss, it was a great game by the Kings.

  4. oh btw qataris edge japan 88-87:blink:

In the international game, we see anything can happen lalo't there is no clear indication that you can actually run over all your opponents. If Gilas really holded off in thier loss against IRAN as what Eljuego stated instead of going for a win, am sure nagsisisi na si Toroman coz they are now forced into this tight situation now.

  5. Sir Nathan, everyone is entitled to his opinon. You can lambast Pierce all you want. All I posted was that he was the main man in Boston's march to the 2002 Eastern Finals then a deluge of haters suddenly pop out out of nowhere. Whatever you say about Pierce, he was a Finals MVP which is no easy feat considering the caliber of teammates like KG and Allen. He is currently Boston's third all-time leading scorer after Larry Legend and Hondo. He will have surpassed Larry Bird and be the second all-time leading scorer of the greatest team of all-time once his career is over. Just like sir dencio, I believe he will make it to the HOF. I rest my case.

WhAT? Who said so? care to show any article to that claim. I think that is your BIAS OPINION.

After that pabagsak na.

  8. i never said that his achievment is nothing. pero dud sabihin mo na si kg and allen(future hall o famer din) needed PP, and perhaps the reason why they go to Boston. its a hyperbole.

Just want to add also that while KG wanted to be traded back in before the 07-08 season started Boston was not among the teams he initially wanted to go to (that was the time si PP pa lang ang star dun). It was reported that the clincher was actually Ray Allen signing afterwhich KG decided to join the bandwagon.

So what does this tell us ... KG would have never joined Boston with ONLY PP there.

  9. Nope. That one was a perfect example of a fluke. No KG yet the Magic took 7 games to beat the Cs. In the rematch last year with KG.....do I need to say it and rub salt on your wound? Ok I'll be euphemistic. No KG was a valid reason.

ang fluke was nun 2008 kasi no Bynum. nun 2010 kahit injured si Bynum talo Boston. Shows that KG is overrated din as the heart and Soul coz obviouly the lakers size which they lost in 2008 was the deciding factor in 2010.

  10. Great thinking ... that's assuming you do really think that Gilas can beat the rest of the teams in the tournament for it to hold off until the finals.

Wherein there's no chance to meet Iran again.

Un ganyan thinking is again one of our greatest alibi sa pagkatalo. Well at the end of the day kahit na hindi naman pala nag held back matatalo rin kasi mas malakas ang kalaban.

  11. Kailan ang laban sa mga Hapon?

    nov 19 Japan

    nov 21 India

    nov 22 Taipei

A win against Japan is critical as it sets-up the possibility of ending up 2nd in their group win a win over Taipei and an expected victory against India. This will give them an easier assignment in the knockout quarters. Otherwise it's either China or S. Korea for them.

  12. well if my memory serves me correctly,

the Jawo-led all-PBA team got walloped when they first tangled with China early during the elimination round

but in doing so, na-avoid nila meeting China again until finals na, wherein, the score was much closer and did not really tell the complete story of how close RP got to making gold

All I'm saying is, baka psy war lang ng SG sa Iran para sa positioning....sana! he he he

Sir if you review the tournament format then, win or lose during their 1st meeting talagang sa finals na lang posibleng magharap ang RP and China.

  13. with SG's loss to iran, what are now its chances of a podium finish?

    Theoretically it's still possible ...

    Realistically it's tough.

Hindi pa rin matanggap ang katotohanan ano? Yang ganyang thinking (unfounded sense of superiority) is why we have not made up lost ground in Asian basketball. Let's face it - we have been overtaken by several countries in terms of international basketball. Unfortunately, 12 players lang ang basketball and in this regard, Iran has proven it is better.

I agree ... the fact that in their last game, Iran won even without 2 of its top players namely Haddadi and Bahrami.

A good win by Gilas over Qatar to keep them back on track. Nevertheless while Qatar is a no pushover the win is expected as we have consistently beat them in the past.

The next game against Japan would be critical and would determine how far this team have develop.

  14. Ngek  ... nanalo lang ng 1 time tama ba un na gamiting example to say Greece is better than the USA man for man? Siguro pwedeng bigyan ng benefit of the doubt baka kasi CHAMBA.

Ung Iran - Gilas, ilang beses na nagharap yan for the past years. Laging talo Pinas. -_-

  15. MP for president? God save the PHL.

One does not need to enter politics if he's really sincere in helping people. Yes, maybe he won't be corrupt but look at the people that surrounds him. Chavit is his buddy.

  16. If he does and still at a catch weight, it would not do him any good.

Just look at it this way if he was able to defend the 147 title against Clottey at 147 why oes he need to fight Cotto for the title at a catch weight for the 147 belt? Just because Cotto is better than Clottey so he want some leverage?
