  1. i get these migraines evry so often and for me the following techniques have worked thus far --

1 - lots and lots of water. no caffeine (coffee, cola, tea)

    2 - a warm shower

    3 - 500 mg of mefenamic acid

    4 - a dark, cool room

    5 - around 6 hours of sleep

6 - when i wake up, another shower, cold this time

7 - some food after the shower

i usually feel better after this.

notice how after a migraine you have this wonderful sense of well being... na parang ang gaan ng feeling mo... isa daw yan sa unique characteristics ng migraine.

  2. When i was still living in Manila - id grocery shop at Rustans Makati because of their frequent shoppers e purse promo where you gain e-pesos that you can spend on grocery items each time you shop.

For bulk shopping, i would go to PriceSmart because it was very near my house and offers quite an interesting variety of items.

Here in Tx, i shop at a variety of stores for different things. Regular groceries i buy either at Kroger or Randall's, fresh produce, meat and fish i get at the numerous oriental groceries here. Bulk shopping we do at Sam's Club.

  3. The sem before i graduated, i began working as a Student Assistant for one of my professors in the UP Psych Department. My first paycheck i used to finance one of my final research papers right before i graduated.

The succeeding paychecks allowed me to bum around UP for the next 3 months without having to ask for baon from my mom... and look for a real job at the same time.

I quit that job when I got my first real job... as an...HR Analyst for a start up telco in Ortigas.

My first paycheck - i treated my mom out to dinner and then bought some groceries and clothes ...

  4. hey you... yep.. the one who has occupied my thoughts for the past couple of days... this is for you.

lol you probly dont know who you are... and thats just fine with me.

im calling it a day, you can be the one that got away. :)

some things just arent meant to be.

no matter how hard we try to make the story real,

a fairy tale it shall remain ...

and thats all its ever going to be.

some things just arent meant to be.

no matter how hard we yearn and wish and pray.

even if we promise to be good and sweet and kind.

thats just the way it is and change it we can never do.

some things just arent meant to be.

that is a fact of life that we have to accept.

to fight against it is impossible.

we just have to accept what life dishes out for us.

some things just arent meant to be.

even if at first the signs are all there

the timing is right and the mood is ripe.

what wont be will never be.

some things just arent meant to be.

    but thats okay.

after some tears are shed and some sighs are sighed.

life does go on and it all becomes quite quite alright.

some things just arent meant to be.

    c`est la vie...

  5. ouch! **wincing** you gave away books? That is kind of hard to do. My friend when he decided to leave the country entered into a loan agreement with me concerning his books. I drop by every now and then in his room at his family's house to make sure the books are all tidy and still complete. Never can trust a sibling not to sell your books, especially when you're going to be gone long term.

i had to give away some :( kse kaka hiya sa sister and cuzin ko where i stashed my books at...

pinili ko amongst my book buddies ang tamang book na ibibigay... some got a lot some got a few.

at least i know my books are in good hands diba?

parang puppies na gini give away... :(

  6. true. thats why im glad meron book sale eh. saka books for less.

browse ka muna dun for your first patricia cornwell. thats how i did it -- got a 2nd hand book upon my ate's reco then when i realized i liked the books isa isa ko binili all her titles. her books were among the few i didnt give away bfore i left manila.

i did the same thing w/ jeffrey deaver and dean koontz... found copies at a 2nd hand bookstore here. liked em and now im gonna buy all their titles pa isa isa. mahal kse ang new books dito.

that way i only buy the authors that i really like.

  7. What is the genre of her books?

she writes about a forensic pathologist (Dr. Kay Scarpetta) and how she tracks down serial killers.

parang CSI but she began writing these books way bfore CSI.

theyre parang a series of novels. its a good read i think. enough to keep you turnin the pages for 3 hours -- and 3 hours is enough time to finish a book (at least if you read as fast as i think you do.)....

i recommended from potters field because thats the first cornwell book i read. but that wasnt the first scarpetta book. i forgot na kse the title of the first one...

    pretty good.

caveat - this is not earth changing literature ha. :)

  8.

tonyt, in this order i want ...

    - a grande non fat no foam amaretto latte and a biscotti

    - a new book, preferably by tracy chevalier to read while i have my coffee and biscotti

    - after my coffee/biscotti/book treat, a foot spa and a pedicure

    - a long walk with my crush...

    - a longer drive home with my crush...

    - 8 hours of pure, unadulterated sleep.

i had a really long day today...

  9. pwend, padalahan mo naman ako ng chocolates dito. dalawa lang trip ko.. alpine white (although i seldom see this brand now) and cadbury's milk.

friend pramis ko syo when i come home... dalhan kta nyan.

kahit galugarin ko ang buong amerika pag hanap ng alpine white mo (discontinued na yata yan eh)...

at kahit pasanin ku lahat ng dairy milk sa buong mundo!

dahil pwendly pwend kta il do that for you!

  10. c'est la vie. thats just the way it goes.

ive won some ( ok ok ive won a lot... ;) ) and ive lost some (quite a few actually)...

but im glad out of each win or loss, i always come out with a lesson learned.

my lesson learned - il always be my own person.

    regardless.

thanks though. for ... well for whatever. :)

    -k

btw... this song seems fitting. :)

    NO MORE DRAMA

    Mary J. Blige

So tired, tired of these drama

    No more, no more

    I wanna be free

    I'm so tired, so tired

    Broken heart again

    Another lesson learn

    Better know your friends

Or else you will get burn

    Gotta count on me

    Cause I can guarantee

    That I'll be fine

No more pain (no more pain)

No more pain (no more pain)

No drama (no more drama in my life)

Noone's gonna make me hurt again

    Why'd I play the fool

    Go through ups and downs

    Knowin' all the time

    You wouldn't be around

Well maybe I like the stress

Cause I was young and restless

    But there was long ago

I don't wanna cry no more

No more pain (no more pain)

No more game (no more game messin with my mind)

No drama (no more drama in my life)

No one's gonna make me hurt again

No more tears (no more tears, I'm tired of cryin everynight)

No more fears (no more fears, I really don't wanna cry)

No drama (no more drama in my life)

I don't ever wanna hurt again

Wanna speak my mind, wanna speak my mind

    Uh, it feel so good

    When you let go

Of all the drama in your life

Now you're free from all the pain

    Free from all the game

    Free from all the stress

    So bye your happiness

    I don't know

Only God knows where the story ends

For me, but I know where the story begins

It's up to us to choose

    Whether we win or loose

    And I choose to win
