kid_dynamite
Himsa isn't even in the same league as SLAYER, dude. i know i know - slayer is in a league of their own. but himsa can kick shadows fall asses anytime of the day. besides i doubt it if slayer would play in d.i.y. show - which himsa did without any rockstaresque qualms. i bet you wouldn't get an earshot of kerry king, wherein during the himsa show - there were no barriers whatsoever. how can slayer top that kind of audience rapport? Capt Spaulding
News about Behemoth: http://www.ozzfest.com/images/bands/2007/bandphoto_2007_behemoth.jpg BEHEMOTH have always pushed the limits of their abilities and defied the boundaries of death and black metal. Now, the Polish metal kings have returned with a new offering, The Apostasy, which is destined to become both the defining release of the band’s career and one of the most revered and dynamic offerings the genre has seen in years. The Apostasy’s basic meaning is “to go against religion,” and with Poland being one of the top religious countries in the world, BEHEMOTH strives to convey that being religious is not the key to happiness. This album takes everything to the next level, as Nergal (guitars, vocals) promises “more speed, aggression and blasphemy than ever before.” The Apostasy is easily the group’s most ambitious and epic offering yet and was recorded in the band's hometown of Gdansk with Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producers' chairs. The effort was once again mixed with the acclaimed Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, SYL) at Dugout Studios in Sweden and will be mastered by Bjorn Engelmann (Rammstein). Quote Link to comment

Leibstandarte
My belated reply, I too like the genre of heavy metal. My favorites are MetallicA (pre 1992), Megadeth (before Mustaine became a born-again Christian), Black Sabbath, Led zeppelin and of course Danzig. I did enjoy the grunge scene. I liked Soundgarden (Superunknown onwards sucked), Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and Temple of the Dog! Missed those days! Quote Link to comment

kid_dynamite
imho, metal nowadays has evolved into a myriad of sub-genres, though there are many the music still maintains the same elements. personally, i like isis, mastodon, nile, the red chord, himsa, the black dahlia murder, pelican, cave in, the dillinger escape plan, intronaut, the sword, and other similar sounding stuff.
