campocarne
kung ako kayo at may opportunity rin lang, umalis na kayo. Fearless forecast ng mga chinese businessmen- "walang improvement dito within the next 15 years". Don't be decieved by the improving peso to dollar exchange rate. There is less demand for dollars because bagsak ang importations obviously because business is very bad. Remittances are at an all time high kasi panay ang padala ng mgal OCWs ng pera sa mga family nilang naghihirap. Isipin ninyo muna sarili ninyo at saka na kayo bumalik pag may pang negosyo na kayo dito. Quote Link to comment

tsunade
sabe nila d daw ako bagay sa Pinas... maybe I'd leave na nga lang... but I like it here, life is simple... and my family would be too far from me... but for something monetary, I'd probably try it. Quote Link to comment
wandering_mind
get my stuff in order 1st - money, career fulfillment, self-realization, these may require me to get out of the country... after that, get back home for a more worthwhile cause - nation building / economic development plus my higher calling. willow_boy
This is just my view. I love our country pero I struggled for years before I ultimately made the decision to migrate to the States. I just felt then that I had reached the point where I had put all my time and resources for my country pero the government, by its failure to curb corruption and continued failure to maintain a stable political and economic environment, kept letting me down. It's been 20 years since the Marcoses left. A lot of countries have achieved a lot of progress during that same period. Tayo, inspite of the supposedly positive GNP/GDP growth rates and "favorable" exchange rates, have not really moved much forward. Let's ignore the numbers for a second and look at the quality of life of the people around us. Has there been a marked improvement in the people's lives? Has there been a significant uplift in the people's sentiments regarding the government? I don't think so. The economic figures may say that the economy is running. But then, it's running pretty much in place. Generally, the ones who are still optimistic are the ones who can afford to do so. For the ones who are teetering between life and death, whether to migrate or not is a non-issue. We, as citizens, can make all the contributions we want pero nationhood is a 2-way contract between the government and its citizens. No matter how hard the citizens work, if the government stays corrupt and ineffective and the economy continues to be controlled by the same groups of families who promote nothing but their self-interests, then everything's for naught. jaguar_18
here...i know that the situation in our country is apalling and distressing, but hey it's for us to see opportunity amidst hopelessness. Even USA has its own corruption, and if i'm not mistaken i know UNICEF discovered a scam. also, i still have reasons to stay here...it's not that easy and not that worth leaving behind. maybe if i'm running from something i would Quote Link to comment
