Luke Cage:

Tyrese Gibson (Transformers) is reportedly looking at playing Marvel Comics Luke Cage in the upcoming adaptation to be directed by John Singleton. Gibson spoke to SCI FI Wire about the possibility of appearing in the film.

"They're still tweaking the script, and all I will say on that is if that slot eventually opens up, I'll probably be that guy to come in there and bring that man to life and have a little fun," Gibson said. Gibson did, however, joke that he'd need to bulk up to play the character. "I'll have to do a lot of bench-pressing, [because] Luke Cage is a lot to live up to," he said. "But, like I said, I'm not officially signed on yet, but they definitely have me in mind."

Luke Cage, who once went by the superhero name Power-Man, was one of the earliest African-American superheroes. Cage was a wrongly convicted prisoner who gained super-strength and invulnerable skin through an experiment. He often teemed with the martial-artist hero Iron Fist, and is now a member of the Avengers.

The killer is James Dolan, Las Vegas’ most ruthless and untouchable mob boss. Elizabeth agrees to testify against him and soon we find out just why Dolan has remained untouched… Anyone who dares to go up against him faces deadly consequences. In Elizabeth’s case, a bomb strapped to the bottom of a car.

Devastated by her death, Robinson tries all the legal channels at his disposal to bring Dolan to justice. But without hard evidence, Dolan remains free, able to run his empire seemingly untouchable. Frustrated and alone, Robinson begins to receive visits from his dead wife urging him to seek revenge. Is Elizabeth really reaching beyond the grave or has he begun his slow decent into insanity? Robinson continues to hear the voices and is driven to construct his own plan -- an elaborate and dangerous one-in-a-million shot.

Haunted by the ghost of wife, Robinson transforms himself into an obsessed vengeance machine, pushing himself beyond the breaking point of mind, body and spirit. When the two men finally meet deep in the heart of the desert, Dolan’s Cadillac climaxes with an amazing test of wills - the ultimate duel in the sun. The Cadillac, which has been Dolan’s armor, may just as easily become his tomb.

Yesterday the Hasbro website gave an update about the sequel to Transformers. It Mentions that the title for part 2 is Revenge of the Fallen…which can only mean one thing. Michael Bay said before that Jazz wouldn’t return and would stay dead. But recently at an L.A. event Darius McCrary, Jazz's voice actor, also hinted that Jazz might return.

Brit actor Matthew Marsden from his recent role opposite Sly Stallone in Rambo, or from his parts in the videogame adaptations DOA: Dead or Alive and Resident Evil: Extinction. He'll soon be even more recognizable, however, as he appears set to join the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers sequel. MTV reports that Marsden has been cast as "Graham," a member of the British Special Forces, in the upcoming flick. Marsden joins Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Rainn Wilson, and, of course, Shia LaBeouf in the cast. The sequel will track the continuing battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons here on Earth.

Meanwhile, TFW2005 got a hold of a leaked call sheet from the set in Bethlehem PA. In it they have tons of new information regarding cast and crew, scenes, storyline, and vehicles. A lot of it is speculative, however TFW2005 can verify that the mentioned "Arcee Motorcycles" are on set.

ARCEE is a born hunter. Before joining the AUTOBOTS, she passed her time tracking turbofoxes on CYBERTRON with some of the other speedsters, taking great pride in approaching as close as she could to them, quickly and silently, before tagging them with her bow. She’s brought those skills with her to Earth, where she passes the days stalking unsuspecting DECEPTICONS until she draws close enough to strike.

THE LAST MISTRESS

marks the monumental pairing of cinema's premiere provocateur, director Catherine Breillat (ROMANCE, FAT GIRL) with the most fearless and explosive actor of our generation, Asia Argento (MARIE ANTOINETTE, BOARDING GATE). A penniless rogue, Ryno de Marigny (newcomer Fu-ad Aît Aattou), shocks 19th century France with his engagement to the virginal gem of the aristocracy, Hermangarde (Roxane Mesquida of FAT GIRL). As lurid speculations of Ryno's ten year affair with the carnal Vellini (Argento) manifest, a supremely erotic and wickedly humorous depiction of human lust is revealed - overriding the brittle facade of nobility and reverence. Bolstered by Breillat's mastery of the medium and Argento's commanding performance, THE LAST MISTRESS is a highly entertaining yet incredibly provocative film that has resulted in unanimous praise from audiences and critics across the world

Journey To the Center of the Earth

An exciting adventure based on the classic Jules Verne novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” Journey to the Center of the Earth stars Brendan Fraser (Crash, The Mummy) as a science professor whose untraditional hypotheses have made him the laughing stock of the academic community. But on an expedition in Iceland, he and his nephew stumble upon a major discovery that launches them on a thrilling journey deep beneath the Earth’s surface, where they travel through never-before-seen worlds and encounter a variety of unusual creatures. Journey to the Center of the Earth is directed by Academy Award-winning visual effects veteran Eric Brevig (Total Recall, Pearl Harbor) from a screenplay by Michael Weiss and Jennifer Flackett & Mark Levin. The film is a co-venture between New Line Cinema and Walden Media.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins

Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to replace Charlotte Gainsbourg in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." Gainsbourg was originally set to play Kate Connor, the wife of human resistance hero John Connor, played by Christian Bale. The actress had to bow out because of scheduling conflicts with another film, a French comedy. Production on "Terminator," directed by McG, is already underway in New Mexico. If an actors strike were to happen, shooting would stop and then restart at a later date, potentially butting heads with the French film.

Witchblade:

The feature film adaptation of the popular '90s comic book Witchblade will be directed by Michael Rymer (Battlestar Gallactica, Queen of the Damned) from a screenplay by Everett De Roche. Coming in 2009 is the live action adaption of the best selling graphic novel franchise, WITCHBLADE, the legend of an ancient and mysterious weapon and the female warrior destined to wield it awesome power.

Smurfs:

The Smurfs are set to make their big screen debut in the form of a live-action/animation combo film. The little blue people had previously been set to bow in a 3-D animation for Paramount/Nickelodeon, but Sony and Columbia Pictures have now obtained the rights, and are courting Shrek 2 and 3 scribes David Stern and David Weiss to write the script.

The Smurfs were created by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford (a.k.a. Peyo) in 1958, but it wasn't until their long-running Hanna Barbera cartoon in 1981 that they became a truly global phenomenon. The tale of a group of tiny blue villagers going about their daily business entranced children the world over and spawned a multi-million dollar toy and game industry.

Dark Shadows:

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory team of director Tim Burton, star Johnny Depp, and screenwriter John August are reportedly looking to re-team for a big screen version of the cult classic TV series Dark Shadows. It was announced last July that Depp would produce, via his Infinitum-Nihil production banner, a feature film version of Dark Shadows along with Graham King. It's also expected that Depp would play the lead role of vampire patriarch Barnabas Collins, played on the original 1966-71 series by Jonathan Frid and in a short-lived 1990s revival by Ben Cross.

The Boston Stranglers:

Brian DePalma is still trying to capture old time glory. The film is based on Susan Kelly's nonfiction book "The Boston Stranglers: The Public Conviction of Albert DeSalvo and the True Story of Eleven Shocking Murders" and was adapted by Alan Rosen. The thriller will detail the early-'60s Boston killings and their controversial resolution. Many question whether Albert DeSalvo -- a publicity hound who confessed to the murders and was later stabbed to death while incarcerated on unrelated charges -- was the actual killer.

Sherlock Holmes:

Guy Ritchie will direct Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros. The movie will be based on Lionel Wigram's "Sherlock Holmes" comicbook, although story details are currently unavailable. Ritchie is working on a rewrite/polish of Tony Peckham's script. The character, originated in the late 19th century by Arthur Conan Doyle, has been portrayed in more than 200 film and TV shows. Warners are looking to have the film ready for a 2010 release.

Kane & Lynch:

Bruce Willis is in negotiations to star in Lionsgate's "Kane & Lynch," a video game adaptation that veteran stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane will helm. The game follows Kane (Willis), a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, is sprung by Kane's former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter. The game was developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidor Interactive.

Turok:

Adam Beach is probably best known as Ira Hayes, the disillusioned Native American soldier from Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers, but he tells MTV that video game geeks may come to know him in a different light as he says he will star in a feature adaptation of the popular video game series "Turok".

Turok centers on Joseph Turok, a former Black Ops commando. The game first arrived back in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 titled "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter". It has since evolved into a new franchise taking place on a dark, mysterious planet in the near future in which Turok is part of an elite Special Forces squad on a mission to take down a war criminal on a genetically-altered planet. After the ship is shot down while approaching the planet, he must use his instincts and elite military training to elude an army of well-trained soldiers, and the ravenous, unpredictable creatures that populate the dangerous environment. Joseph Turok's mission? Survive at all costs.

2012:

Independence Day helmer Roland Emmerich's latest multi-million dollar mega-project 2012 is now gearing up for production, with three more actors joining the cast. We already knew that John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor were on board, and now Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), Thandie Newton (Run Fatboy, Run) and Oliver Platt have also signed up for this apocalyptic drama. Glover is in talks to play the President, Newton his daughter and Platt the White House Chief of Staff.
