Job Openings & Opportunities

hmmm most of the advise that you got came from someone who is already working in a call center and they correct that call center are investing on their agents skill, accent etc...for you to go to the floor to take calls you might spent 1-2 months in training alone

the problem in working in call center is most of the time you will be assinged on graveyard and if your taking you class in the morning...GOODLUCK to your health and grades...

what i can suggest to you is take it one step at a time. finish your studies then apply...

there are lots of members here in mtc who is working in call center that can help you...including me...but for now FINISH your studies first...

:mtc:

oh,you think so,coldfussion? *sigh*

yeah,i'm aware that I could work the graveyard shift...and,yes,i'm kinda thinking about that. Gee...I'm still thinking about it...Guys,anymore suggestions? I appreciate it,dude. I still need more opinions though.I know I have the final say on this but your opinions would really help me make up my mind...

in my opinion coldfusion has a very valid point of you finishing your studies first before even contemplating about work. to tell you frankly, if you start working while still trying to finish your studies, even though it seems like a good learning experience, you will lose focus on your studies (parang di bagay na galing sakin) coz like me when i was in college, why study if i'm already making my own money. BAD IDEA! well in the end your gonna decide for yourself so think it through. by the way, i chose to work in a call center before finishing school so i ended up stopping for two years coz i thought that it as a good idea.

coldfussion and xhalaguena have valid points.

my suggestion is check out other options. there are lots of jobs that enable one to work and study at the same time. the call center thing may burn you out prematurely.

we wish you well, naks hehe  :)

yep, this is one of the worst things that could happen to you. sayang eh... but IF you still want to give it a try, try smaller call centers. they may need some part time agents. of course you wouldn't want to be blacklisted in most call centers if you apply on etel, cvg, PS, sykes, etc & go on AWOL if you decide in the future that you're not ready yet... not to mention the dreaded BOND

Like some of our colleagues here who have suggested to prioritize your studies first, I will go for that also. When I was in college, I also tried working as a crew for jollibee but man, it really is very difficult. So I salute those who were able to do both at the same time and still finished top of their class. But for the majorityit really is a struggle.

You will need good grades just to get a competitive edge when u enter the corporate world. On the hundreds and thousands of graduates each year competing for a newbie job, Good luck! let alone you only have so-so grades.

After college, then you can decide for yourself what you want to do. If its just extra bucks you're looking for, I might have the thing for you...pm me if you're interested...:) :headsetsmiley:

As already mentioned, minimum training in a CC is one month. If you're planning on working only for 2 months, I don't think any CC would hire you.

You want to show your mom you can deal with life already? Mag-service crew ka sa Fast Food joints. Dun, you'll get to deal with customers and work with different personalities in the flesh.

I think there are other more viable options than a fast food stint. Man, ang liit ng pera dun. You're going to burn yourself out for next to nothing.

But bro, I'm quite interested in what you decide on doing. Be sure to post your decision here ayt?

oh,i've actually done that. I got into a summer job back in 2004. My dad was the one who helped me get into that fastfood chain since we knew the store manager. I ended up doing nothing much. I was actually hated by the other crews coz I was being pampered too much by my tita. She let me choose which job i wanted to do...I did learn something from that but,you know,it still wasn't real life. I mean,I did deal with customers but it was kinda easy.

well,2months is like just my "thought". you know,i think i'll definitely try it this summer. I'm positive that I have what it takes to make it good both as,first, a student and a call center agent.

I'm still deciding though...let's just say "DOIN IT" has got the upper hand on "NOT DOING IT".

Hope to hear more opinions from you guys. Trust me,it's really helping me! Thanks to everyone who took time to put down something here! Appreciate it a lot! :mtc:
