brownbomber
with the way the nba has shifted towards small ball lineups, a point guard was the better pick in my opinion. just look at the low post beasts in the nba today specifically al jefferson and zach randolph. the memphis grizzlies just shifted to a small ball lineup with zbo coming off the bench. the lakers havent had a capable pg since the d-fish days. also, clarkson is a natural scoring guard with passing ability, not a point guard. however, if the lakers were truly trying to compete this year, maybe mudiay, the more finished of the top two pg's, would have been the better pick Quote Link to comment

azraelmd
Not really...only team that that is using small ball lineup officially are the GSWarriors...theres no shift...sure some incorporate small ball rotations in their lineup...but not all are succesfull...only GSW is succesfull...because of curry...just look at the 2nd ranked team in the west...as ive said..PGs are a dime a dozen in the league...also the next 2 year future college draft picks are full of higly rated PGs and SGs...besides why would you shift to small ball...when we all know the lakers are always succesful with a dominating big men in the middle...not with a dominating PG.... Besides its highly debatable regarding the potential of russel vs okafor...even mudiaye plays better than him.... Quote Link to comment
Guiness
There's actually a lot of teams using small ball now, not just the Warriors. The Pacers are doing it, Heat, Raptors, Clippers, Mavericks, Pelicans, Spurs, Thunder, Wizards. It's just the way the game is being played now along with the rules of the game being changed in order to space the floor with shooters and give advantage to guards like Curry and Westbrook. If you remember the Lakers tried it out with Dwight but it didn't really work out. Even now, with Houston, they're not exactly doing good either. They need to adapt to the way the game is being played now. Plus at the moment, i have yet to see any big man that can be considered a superstar player that can be compared to the Laker bigs like Shaq, Kareem, or Wilt Edited December 16, 2015 by hahnz Quote Link to comment
darksoulriver
good shooting nite for the Lakers... which is the otherway for the BUCKS who beat Warriors still russel, JC is tentative to shoots when Kobe is playing with them. blackmamba11
Hello mga fellow Laker Nation members. Kobe leading vote-getter sa first returns ng all-star with more than 700k votes. That's more than LBJ + KD combined. Mukhang sure starter na si Mamba. Also, agree ako sa pag pick kay DLo Russell. Magdedevelop din yan into a Damian Lillard type of player basta mabigyan ng chance. Lakers for Life!!! Quote Link to comment
happybloke
Last hurrah for kobe, and i don't think sympathy votes kay kobe. He's been an all star for how many seasons, and un nga he was injured last yr. Hopefully, when kobe retires, they need to get somebody to replace the gap or somewhat try to fill the gap that is kobe bryant. Quote Link to comment
Vegasboy32
The Lakers stil have a long way to go in becoming contenders again. Ganyan talaga lahat naman ng young teams dumadaan sa ganyang pagsubok. Quote Link to comment
