ej_qn
own both diesel and gas vehicles but for fuel efficiency and torque I'd choose diesel. Quote Link to comment

HarryPotter25
DIESEL  Diesel has more usable energy when compared to gasoline. As such, it can deliver better fuel economy. Compared to its gas counterpart, diesel engines get 30% better fuel economy. And that’s a big advantage for vehicle owners, particularly those who drive long distances each day. Why should it matter to them? For one, a tank of diesel can get one farther than a tank of gas. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s faster to fuel up with diesel compared to gas.A diesel-powered vehicle doesn’t have spark plugs or distributors. As such, they don’t need ignition tune-ups. This is a benefit for those who don’t like to have their vehicles inspected regularly. Then again, regular maintenance is still required to keep the car performing well and to lengthen its life as well. Quote Link to comment
Bowman36
I like both... gas kasi faster, diesel pag kasama ko buong family ko at out of town matipid... Quote Link to comment
Quickhits
I like both... gas kasi faster, diesel pag kasama ko buong family ko at out of town matipid...True. Mechanical engineer here. Better efficiency din (theoretically). Pero lots of reliability issue for the diesel. Anyway, got a diesel Ford focus so I'll go diesel this time. Hehe. Quote Link to comment

BIG-Trouble
Diesel fuel is cheaper and generally diesel engines have higher mileage. However, maintenance cost of diesel and cost of diesel vehicles is higher than gasoline. I tried computing and the savings diesel price provides in 5 years versus gasoline vis a vis my mileage does not exceed the extra cost of a diesel vehicle. Â Gasoline provides better acceleration and in general is more drivable. Â Both have pros and cons. Quote Link to comment
Jakecastro
Misconception that gasoline engine is more powerfull than diesel engine? Fact: diesel engine produces more torque than gas engine. Gasoline engine produces more horsepower than diesel engine.  But it also depends on the engine technology. See below examples. Hyundai Santafe 2.2 liter diesel engine CRDI200hp @ 3800 rpm - power441nm @ 2750 rpm - torque Ford Explorer 2.3 liter gasoline engine EcoBoost274hp @ 5500 rpm - power408nm @ 3000 rpm - torque Quote Link to comment
