howarddeduct
the philippines is still in a euphoria with the pacman's win... nothing beats the UAAP prestige compared to this league. the coveted troply is in the UAAP not in this league. so personally, i don't feel or see any excitement in this championship game.Only a few seem to care about the PCC. wackyracer
congrats as well to the fourth placer San Beda Red Lions, the third placer Letran Knights and the runner-up Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles who all gallantly put up a stand to make the PCC Final Four fun to watch ... it is good to see the sportsmanship exemplified by these teams, that despite losing key players in key stretches of the tournament, never made excuses for falling short of their goals (e.g. SBC sans Pong Escobal, Borgy Hermida, AdMU sans Chris Tiu, Ryan Buenafe) ... kudos to these teams who, despite of losing, managed to hold their heads up high and accept defeat honorably, standing side by side with the champions DLSU in the awarding rites ... till the next PCC Quote Link to comment
greenarrow
FYI: DLSU played the entire tournament without a legitimate point guard.LA & Simon Atkins did not play in this tournament due to various reasons. Quote Link to comment

Edmond_Dantes
Iba talaga kung Ateneo natatalo. Walang excuses. Ang VL Salle naman, laging pa-underdog effect. Tama yung prediction, kung natalo sila yun ay dahil kulang sila sa manpower. Kung manalo naman sila, sasabihin nila "we played without a legitimate pointguard", at "we rarely practiced as a team". :-) Quote Link to comment
stonecoldrock
what can you expect from DLSU Quote Link to comment
bagito
Iba talaga kung Ateneo natatalo. Walang excuses. Talaga lang ha? From Philstar.com:“Congratulations to La Salle, they deserve to win this particular game,” said Ateneo coach Norman Black. “Of course, this is not the same team that played in the UAAP so what can I do. We can only do our best with what we have.” Ayos! :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
howarddeduct
Care to elaborate, Mr. Black? Quote Link to comment
xxio
At least he admits DLSU deserved to win that game. I have yet to see a DLSU person in authority to acknowledge that ADMU was the superior team in the previous 4 times they met. Quote Link to comment

It is NOT THE ATENEO WAY. We did our best with what we had. o di ba tama? panalo kayo dahil yung team niyo mas magaling nung lunes. tinanggap namin ang 2nd ng walang angal. We blame no one except ourselves. As I said, we DID NOT play well. best collegiate team in the country. parang ilang beses na ba kayo nanalo sa amin this year? syempre dahil kinampihan kami ng ref ang reason niyo. Grow up archers. pang bata yhang mga pinagsasabi niyo. Quote Link to comment
dos8dos
well UAAP season72 will prove a lot of things for or against all the controversies of season71 sino na ba ang magiging commissioner by that time? Quote Link to comment

Ok na sana yung simula ng statement ni Norman, biglang kabig IMHO, give credit where credit is due - no ifs, no buts But still, the better team won here. Congrats to DLSU One Big Fight! greenarrow
The PCC is the first "champions league" tournament that De La Salle have played in. They use to snub tournaments like the PCC even during the 1997 "champions league" won by NCAA five-peat winner SSC-R Golden Stags. De La Salle is once again...back. It's also interesting to note that the Green Archers won the 2007 UAAP crown (their 7th) on October 7, 2007, the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Recently, they bagged the PCC title to crown themselves as the best collegiate team in the country on December 8, 2008, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Ateneo's patroness). It's so nice to win titles during Mary's feasts. For now, they need to enjoy those KFC gift certificates to the fullest. After all, it's so nice to eat KFC fried chicken meals and all those chicken fillet and burger combinations when you've won the big one over the Blue Eagles. It's fried chicken time! xxio
DLSU wasn't qualified to join the PCCL during the year they were suspended. Just pointing that out. Quote Link to comment

And you call your school a Catholic School? geeez!!!!!!! Mahiya ka naman sa Ina ng Panginoon natin tsong. Iningles mo pa!!! Inamin na nga that you were the better team on that day. and you peole are still rambling about the commissioner issue. lumang issue na yan. daig pa niyan ang zombie dahil binubuhaty niyo paulit-ulit. grow up la sallites!!!! or la sallians or whatever it is you should be called!!!!! howard_the_duck
it would've been stupid if a suspended team in their own league played in the champions league. :boo: Quote Link to comment
