Feeling Rich, Looking Rich And Claiming To Be Rich

It been my observation that most often yung mga tao who are flashy with new toys, clothes, cars, etc., are really broke....kung baga, its all for show lang...pero kapag may emergency at kailangan ng pera...eh wala palang naitabi.

So they can flex their muscles and be able to say " hindi mo ba ako kilala?"

 

Parang sa shop na pinagpapagawaan ko sa Banawe. "Yung isang lalaki, kung umasta para talagang sa kanya 'yung kotse na pinapagawa nya. Kung tingnan 'yung mga ibang kotse, talagang minamaliit. Tapos sinasabi na "eto nung nakuha ko... ('yung car)." Pero tanungin mo kung anong model 'yung dina-drive nya, hindi masabi. Tapos nagkita kami ulit, 'yung malaking car ko ang dala ko, sabi, bago "DIN" 'yan ah, habang punas sa talsik sa gilid ng kotse nya. Tapos kwento kung gaano daw kalaki na ang nagagastos nya sa kapapagawa ng suspension ng luxury car nya kasi ang mahal daw at rare ang parts. Tapos may naka-taxi na dumating at tiningnan 'yung car. Pumasok sa loob at may kinuha.

 

Anak pala ng amo nya.

 

Driver pala ang ungas.

 

Hindi na kami kinausap.

Naku I have this officemate before that is such a braggart. He said that his father is an architect and his mom is a vetrinarian. he has all the latest gadgets like when the Quad Core processors just came out he said that his computer sported those specs and that he has the latest palm computer with wi-fi, he drives an Altis, Fortuner and a tricked out Corolla '91 blacktop with 4AGE mods. Then came the time he had to borrow money from one of our officemates. He borrowed 15,000 php then after a few days, he resigned. Up to this day my officemate whom he borrowed the money from is still paying his credit card bills(he lent money through cash advance), kawawa naman and to think mabait naman yung taong ito. so please be advised that if you know someone named Antonio Carlos Vargas mag ingat kayo dahil manunuba or swindler ito.

 

Palipat lipat daw ito ng call center ngayon, last time seen or heard he was at IBM Daksh

Hmmm bakit nga ganito, kung sino yung walang pera yun pa yung sobra makaporma, kung sino naman yung maraming pera, yun naman yung low profile. Ano ba nakukuha sa pag pretend na meron eh sa reality naman eh talagang wala. Lack of attention? Bragging rights? Parang niloloko lang yung sarili di ba? Maybe this has something to do with being insecure. Fact that one cannot accept who and where he/she stands in the society. I pity these people tsk tsk tsk.

Lalo na mga girls sa call centers... tsk tsk tsk.... dinadaan sa english & pag naka sakay sa FX or Jeep di marunong umabot ng bayad, while ever since pinanganak sila they never had their own ride.., tricycle, jeep, bus etc sinasakyan nila araw araw... tsk tsk tsk.. ako nga lately nalang ako natutong mamasahe dahil nabenta na car namin, pero marunong naman ako mag abot ng bayad.... hahahahaha...

 

madami pa jan, ginagawang gimikan ang starbucks.. lol.. jologs...

just read all this post and i must say i tip my hat to the THREAD STARTER for coming up with this topic and all the VERY INFORMATIVE posts that were posted here -- sir, ang tatalino ninyo, galing ng mga observations ninyo -- really, i commend you for this..

 

let me just tell you a few stories regarding this..

 

totoo nga na when you look rich or really rich, yung power and control makukuha mo, when i was working before as an ACCOUNT MANAGERS sa isang low class na company, i always get jealous kasi mas pinapaboran ng mga ad agencies yung mga account managers ng ABS CBN, GMA7, INQUIRER etc.. kasi nga they flaunt the newest gadgets tapos aayain yung taga ad agency para kumain tapos di ka makakalaban dun kasi you're just earning 10K per month and you have to balance that kasi nga pag account managers usually sa pamasahe ka talo, kaya ako madalas ako mag taxi kasi ang hirap ng dadating ka sa mga ad agencies na pawis na pawis ka from commuting (tapos you're wearing long sleeved shirt or polo barong, mainit talaga lalo na pag nasa Makati ka)..

 

anyways, my point is what you guys have already said, you're bound to show off whatever thing you have kasi nga to be accepted or to gain respect or maybe just to brag..

 

also before, i knew this girl na di ako pinapansin nung nag cocommute ako, parang ang pangit ng tingin sakin...when i had my car (courtesy of my parents who worked hard for the money -- middle class lang kami pero we have things most middle class persons do not have..) saka siya nagpapapansin, i just laughed it off and di ko pinansin..

 

sana more inputs pa regarding this...dami ko natututunan...heheheh

Pag looking rich, ok lang cguro kase there are those na pag nakabihis eh mukhang rich talaga. Pero pag feeling and claiming rich na, sakit na to sa utak. Best description cguro ay SOCIAL CLIMBER.
