gift_of_game
Yanks land Sabathia... (not too sure if it's official) Quote Link to comment
agentjackbauer
Money talks eh? Tsk tsk. (Pero kung ako rin si CC, I wouldnt be able to say no to that much money) From rotoworld.com Sabathia Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees have agreed to terms with CC Sabathia on a contract worth "at least $140 million." Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the deal is for seven years and $160 million rather than the six-year, $140 million deal the Yankees previously had on the table. Sabathia apparently gave general manager Brian Cashman his decision at the conclusion of their Tuesday night meeting in San Francisco, opting to accept the richest pitching contract in baseball history. Sabathia, who won the AL Cy Young award in 2007 and went 17-10 with a 2.70 ERA between the Indians and Brewers last season, is expected to make the deal official once he passes a physical. Dec. 10 - 8:15 am etSource: New York Post Lowe Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Yankees are close to signing Derek Lowe to a four-year deal worth between $68 and $72 million. If Heyman's report is accurate, the Yankees may be able to announce the additions of both Lowe and CC Sabathia on the same day, which presumably would take them out of the running for A.J. Burnett. Jongkers
All that money and New York food will only make a fatter CC. Then he'll miss half a season or more. The news says Burnett AND Lowe might follow.I hope not.I'm fine with Burnett becoming a Yank as he'll surely miss a lot of games next season. But Lowe?! Nooo!! :thumbsdownsmiley: Quote Link to comment

Tex will get love in DC but there just won't be as much fantasy success. the Bosox or Halos would be fine. don't want him to go to the Yanks.have this weird feeling that Girardi will mess him up. gift_of_game
wtf?they're paying Putz mad money to play setup?kagaguhan yan!tama si kville, eh kung tinatambakan lang din sila, what's the point of having a top-tier closer, much less two? LOL! Quote Link to comment
denimhead
i wont be surprised if the mets go after manny too ..... they can load up .. but they still need to hold on to the lead Quote Link to comment
CousinBarry
Metsies still do have the money.what they really need is a leader. Wright and Reyes are fine young players but neither one seems capable of being that guy. I'd consider trading Beltran for a vet if it came to that. seems safe to say that the Yanks are backing off Tex. Quote Link to comment
