Anaheim
Saw IMELDA yesterday. IMELDA, a film documentary by filmmaker Ramona Diaz. It won Best Cinematography at the Sundance film festival. "Imelda", a poignant portrayal of the ousted first lady or shall I say it this film reflects Imelda's "sariling mundo". Rare film footage of the Philippines in world war II; the assassination attempt to Imelda by a man with a bolo; Imelda's interaction with Khadafy, Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George Hamilton, Henry Kissinger; is a plus. The eerie scene where Imelda singing a song to a dying Ferdinand Marcos gave me the creeps. Hilarious scene of Imelda fiddling with drawing symbols about her philosophy in life. The end credits also shows Bong Bong and Imee Marcos' campaign film footage, this is significant because the Marcos children echos in our mind that the Marcos legacy is still on the rise. Also contains nostalgic scenes of the Philippines in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Highly recommended. Edited July 26, 2004 by Anaheim Quote Link to comment

hsmeilop
I, Robot. A Sci_fi thriller. The reason there was too much talk because it was a MURDER investigation movie, coupled with Special Effects. and its a will smith movie. the july box office king!!!! Quote Link to comment

Anaheim
saw CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN (pirated DVD again!) - starring Lindsay Lohan (Freaky Friday, Parent Trap, Mean Girls). Nice songs by Lindsay Lohan but not comparable to Britney Spears dynamite performance although Lindsay has the potential to follow Britney's footsteps. Typical teenage flick story with the loser-bestfriend, rival jealousy with the sarcastic gorgeous girl. Story is lame with manipulatively obvious characters. But you'll definitely enjoy Lindsay Lohan's charisma on the screen (or on your TV screens). Edited July 28, 2004 by Anaheim Quote Link to comment
pedro_del_norte
i watched ZATOICHI in greenbelt 1. It's a great movie for samurai fans... just let down by poor editing, but the rest of the film was OK. it's like watching samurai X live action but the hero is blind and doest have red hair, plus he's also 'aged'. Quote Link to comment
pedro_del_norte
also watched i.robot the other day. the only thing that impressed me was smith's future car which was an audi... i didn't appreciate the special effects whilst its good, its not extraordinary. plus will smith failed to deliver the punchline and noone was reacting to his jokes, except maybe for that "im allergic to bullshit" thing.
