Love,

1. I wear fit jeans, t-shirts, and heavy leather boots to work, as well as custom fitted fire resistant cotton jackets.

2. Wearing shades is allowed.

3. I also have a fancy nick when on radio

4. Machines dont have emotions. You can kick machines here if you get pissed off.

5. We can predict precisely what will happen given enough data. Right down to the last millimeter. Sometimes, just via mental computation. Still amazes me all these years that the hypothetical stuff they taught in textbooks is all true and will work no matter what, just trust your math.

Hate

1. If you do a good job, no one hears about it. We are invisible, like the engine crew in a ship. Maybe you will get a nice wooden plaque to hang in your office someday, if many years pass by and you don't mess up.

2. The moment you mess up one small bit, its on the headlines (fire! Explosion! Oil Spill! Casualties!). I think this goes for all engineers, you only hear about us when there's trouble.

3. The government thinks you are making heaps and does everything possible to make you think you work for a rotten and abusive company that no one needs.

its a dirty job, but some poor folk have to do it...

I've been working sa semiconductor industry for close to 8 years already. Sa industry namin, hindi uso ang pantry. Ano ba talaga yung pantry? Free food? Free coffee? Free iced tea? Ano yung pantry system sa office nyo? Share nyo naman...

best: hawak ko oras ko; salary is commission-based -- pag maraming pasyente, mas okay... ;) i also get a lot of stuff from my patients -- tips and gifts (e.g., food); and best of all, seeing my patient's condition improve!!!

worst: salary is commission-based, so kawawa talaga pag wlang pasyente.. :( and of course, having to deal with autistic kids... i know it's not their fault, but nakakasawa and nakakapagod na rin minsan... :P
