post-31205-1183194805.jpgiPhone frenzy in the US! the much-ballyhooed launch of another breakthrough product from an iconic company! while americans finally got their hands on the iPhone, europeans will have to wait until later this year and asians, maybe including us pinoys, by 2008 pa.

pero for $499 (4GB) or $599 (8GB), on top of a minimum $59.99 monthly plan (sa AT&T yon), pwede na siguro. para ka na kasing may iPod at camera phone in one.

Apple Inc.’s iPhone, a revolutionary new mobile phone, is finally out in the market.

Hundreds of people lined up on the Apple stores in the US for them to become one of the first buyers of Apple’s music and video playing phone, iPhone. The crowds at some of the Apple’s outlets cheered as their doors opened at 6 PM local time in each US time zone.

Apple targets to sell 10 million iPhones by next year and many analysts say that Apple stock may go up to 30% in the coming year if the phone catches on.

At last, iPhone is already out in the market! :thumbsupsmiley:

But if we learn anything from the Americans, it's always a question of being able to sell anything, be it an idea, a product or a gadget. In the end bibilhin rin natin dahil in siya, yon lang. :sleepysmiley03:

A purely touch screen that runs a keyboard on qwerty setup is hell for people with fingers as fat as a jumbo hotdog.

No 3G, battery is inside and drains fast, if you are on gsm networks email is very slow. It plays cool music and videos, has very engaging interactive menus and displays.

Available here in late 2008 pa. Let it run its course. By then, the bugs will have come out and they will have fixed it already. :goatee:

Mas bibilhin ko pa ang N95 kaysa dito.

It's not about the Money (which I can afford), it's about the Features.

Pati pala memory integrated, no expansion slot and touch screen pa.

If ever magkaroon nito dito malamang iisang network provider lang ang bibigyan ng Apple just like in the US (AT&T) and Europe (Vodafone).

And kung alin mang provider ang mabigyan ng rights nito...swerte nila kasi malamang lahat ng gusto magkaroon ng iPhone lilipat sa kanila at magpapa-sign-up sa plan nila.

One thing though, I don't think the iPhone will be available for prepaid.

If in fact nagbebenta nga sila, pano ung network nun?

Apple iPhone Dissected

Hours after launch, the iPhone stripped of all parts

Apple unleashed the iPhone on the general public only hours ago and it has already been dissected. With a heat gun and razor blade, tech guru Anand Lal Shimpi was able to strip the Apple iPhone of its brushed aluminum cover and reveal its innards. Inside the iPhone, there are the usual GSM and WiFi antennas, battery, camera and tape.

Apple makes use of two PCBs in a sandwich configuration – each tightly packed with chips. Apple equips the iPhone with Samsung MLC NAND flash memory and an ARM processor. The ARM processor was manufacture by Samsung, but has an Apple logo printed on it. AnandTech believes the Apple branded ARM processor may be the Samsung S3C6400 derived from an ARM1176 core.

The iPhone’s multi-touch screen consists of multiple layers. On the layer closest to the motherboard, Apple lays down faint dots in a grid-like pattern. The dot grid is necessary for the multi-touch screen, apparently.

After dissection, AnandTech was unable to get the phone to function again. Shimpi warns, "While it is quite possible to take apart using easy to find tools we'd recommend against it as it will undoubtedly void your warranty and will most likely mar up the beautiful gadget's exterior."
