Traffic Problem In Metro Manila (Merged Thread)

Recommended Posts

Volume is the issue, too many 4-7 seaters.

Add more trains, buses, push for carpooling atleast 4 people

take out private vehicles (send them to the provinces)

If volume is the issue, then the answer is more roads and have the alternate routes cleared of illegally parked vehicles. That's being done. Traffic is still heavy in EDSA and major routes. But it's easier to drive now in alternate routes that have been cleared.

We are adding more trains and more lines. That's being done.

Yes, there should be more buses, taxis, school buses and Grab. There should be less jeepneys, and tricycles.

They tried carpooling lane in Los Angeles. It didn't work there. It wouldn't work here.

Take out the private vehicles? Obviously you don't own one.

Illegally-parked vehicles in Manila are being clamped everyday. Clamping has helped improve traffic in Manila as it made motorists think twice before parking in a "no-parking" area. The clamping and clearing teams in Manila have helped decongest Manila but I truly believe that it is the Skyway that will decongest not only Manila but the whole of Metro Manila. Makati, QC and other Metro Manila LGUs should follow suit and have clamping operations everyday.

para sa akin kung gaganda ang public transport ( train , Bus and even Jeep ) mas mababawasan ang sasakyan sa kalsada. tapos displina pag nasa daan at kung pede naman lakarin ang pupuntahan please maglakad na lang menos pollution , good for the health and savings na rin.

Our infrastructure of roads and highways are not enough to handle the demands.Cars are multiplying exponentially on the road plus the undisciplined drivers. The master planners have short visions.

Agreed. That and commerce is heavily concentrated in NCR hence why it is soooo densely populated and congested. Ang daming mga taga probinsya ang pumupuntang Maynila kasi halos walang opportunity sa kinaroroonan nila. I'm not saying NCR is the only developed city. What I'm saying is the so called "development" and commerce is heavily concentrated here. I also don get yung tipong kelangan mo pang dumaang manila para lang makakuha ng permit na mag unload ng cargo sa Palawan (or other ports na di located sa NCR). The usual solutions that the current and previous administrations aren't long term(puro bandaid solutions). They're not exactly addressing the root cause or the reason why the problem persists.
