messersmith
THIS.. could not agree more Gaya ng sinasabi ni James Deakin DISCIPLINE Kahit pa anong schemes at coding ang ipatupad. Sa bahay - parents should teach their children the proper thinking sa kalye2. Sa school - teachers should remind their students regarding discipline3. Driving school - instructors should teach their students the proper mindset when driving on the road.4. LTO - Make the exams difficult so that those who knew the codes and rules can only pass. Making sure that the applicant really passed the field test is also important.5. LTFRB MMDA - Implementation of merit/demerit points for the license holders is a must. The points should be processed autonomously. Quote Link to comment
Joblow
haroots2
Its about time.
jackhall
there is just too many cars in the metro, and too few alternative for car owners to leave their cars. more train lines and efficient bus system is the long term solution. they should start rationalizing the bus routes, most of them are redundant Quote Link to comment
spnk

Pedicabs, Tricycles, and Jeepneys are the most inefficient modes of transports for cities and large townships. They should be taken off the city streets and national highways. They should be replaced by buses and trains. The tricycles and jeepneys should be sent to remote barangays and towns in the provincial rural areas. And do not allow pedicabs as means of commercial transport other than as a tourist attraction. Tricycles are best used to transport agricultural produce and people from farms to trading posts, while jeepneys are best used to transport the agri products from trading posts to towns. Truck haulers then take over the transport from town terminals to urban centers and industrial processing centers. Quote Link to comment
camiar
This is how to transform and replace the jeepneys: Quote Link to comment
camiar
Transformation also has to come from the jeepney drivers' attitude on the road like stopping in the middle of the road. It's not in the aesthetics, it's in the attitude. If you notice the design, it forces the driver to stop close to the curb and open the doors when loading and unloading passengers. The old design with open door at the rear allows passengers to jump on of off even in the middle of the lane. Driver and passenger behavior can be influenced by the design. If you notice the seat design, it allows passengers to lift up the seats so they can lean on the seats (half-standing) to allow more room to standing passengers when the PUV is full.Passenger's courteous behavior can be influenced by the design. haroots2
^ I don't think it will be suitable to some roads in the province. Quote Link to comment
tk421
Kahit i modernize niyo ang buses and jeepneys, kung ganun pa din ang sistema (yun boundary system and witing for the PUV to be filled with people before traveling), you will always have an inefficient public transport that will likely cause traffic. Drivers of these public transports should be given a monthly wage instead of commissions. Quote Link to comment
rooster69ph
If i am not mistaken i believe that is the plan. In fact one needs to have at least 10 units in order to be given a franchise so mawawala na yun mga maliliit na operators na sila mismo ang nagmamayari at namamasada ng jeep nila unless maybe they unite and form a cooperative to circumvent this.
