He has been offered to Aston Villa as part of a deal for Gareth Barry.Midfielder Barry is set to turn down a record pay offer from Villa in order to seal a move to Anfield. (Independent) Liverpool have checked on Barcelona's French left-back Frank Abidal and are also pursuing Borussia Dortmund's Phillip Degen. (Daily Express)Rafa is planning to make a double swoop on the relegated Real Zaragoza for Sergio Garcia and Pablo Aimar for a combined for of around £15 million pounds. And he is planning to swoop for Sergio Aguero for £25 million pounds as Athletico Madrid did not make the Champions League. Rafa will also sign a goalkeeper on a bosman deal, it could be either Schwazer or Taylor or even Jaaskelainen. Finally Rafa is planning a swap of Crouch + £10 million for Micheal Johnson and Micah Richards from Manchester City. Will next year be the year? hopefully but by now prem teams should already know how to shackle torres. its going to be difficult season ahead for him. hope they get some good wingers and supporting strikers to aid him.
