ManU are still trying to find a supplemental midfielder bago mag close ang transfer window..nagbid na sila for Johann Vogel of AC Milan pero for loan lang ata..may rumors na si Joey Barton of Man City are kukunin nila..sino kaya?..puro injuries kasi..Go ManU!!

It seems AJAX is gearing up. Though losing a couple of players like PIENNAR, DE JONG,and MAXWELL. They now have KLAAS JAN HUNTELAAR, JAAP STAM, and Danish striker KENNETH PEREZ. Plus re-signing of rising goalkeeper STEKELENBERG and forward MITEA.

I'm a Juventus fan in the Italian League. I hope they'll hang onto the Italian Cup coz AC Milan has just been ousted by Palermo.

to all ManU fans- Good choice! hehehe..

ayos lang yung performance ni rio as defensive midfielder pero he is a straight up central defender, kelangan tlga ni Sir Alex makakuha ng totoong defensive & offensive midfielder, dapat hindi na siya nagcconvert ng players, depende lang kung may injuries..excited na nga ko sa off season kung sino bibilhin niya..

ok ang mga nakuha nyang defenders in Vidic & Evra, pero feeling ko Evra will play a more left halfback/winger positon, mabilis kasi siya & can give quality crosses (ala Giggs ba-napanood ko na siya nung CL w/ Monaco, magaling siya, sana sa ManU din), mga wingers kasi ng ManU ngayon, Park Ji-sung & Cristiano Ronaldo, parehong pang right wing or si Park pwedeng mala-Scholes ang laro..

with Rio Ferdinand & Wes Brown playing well, ayos na ang central defenders..4 na nga actually central defenders nya eh: Silvestre, Ferdinand, Vidic & Brown..ang ayos kay Vidic, he can also play at the right, so kung mainjure si G.Neville (wag nman sana..), may pamalit..i prefer Brown than Silvestre, pero sinong mas ok, si Ferdinand kaya or si Vidic? or pagsasabayin sila ni Sir Alex, tingnan na lang natin in the future..isa pa pla na problem position, left back, at least anjan na si Evra & when Heinze's healthy, ayos na nman ang depensa ng ManU..

who will be the new midfielders of ManU? & sino kaya ang ibbenta nila? xcited na ko sa off season..

AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS QUARTERFINALS FIXTURES

CAIRO, Jan 31 (SW) - Fixtures for the African Cup of Nations 2006 quarter finals, to be played on February 3rd and 4th in the cities of Cairo, Alexandria and Port Said.

*Egypt - Congo DR

February 3rd - Cairo International Stadium

Egypt opened the tournament with a convincing 3-0 win over neighbors Libya, followed by a scoreless draw versus Morocco. Against Côte d'Ivoire, the hosts won 3-1 to secure the top position in Group A.

Congo DR defeated World Cup participants Togo 0-2 in their opening game, but drew 0-0 against Angola. A 2-0 defeat by tournament favorites Cameroon could not keep Congo DR out of the quarter finals.

There have been no recent official meetings between these two teams.

*Guinea - Senegal

February 3rd - Alexandria Border Guard Stadium

Guinea are arguably the biggest surprise of this tournament. A 0-2 win over South Africa was followed by a 1-2 victory over Zambia, and reigning champions Tunisia were defeated 0-3 in the final group match.

Of all quarter finalists, Senegal were most fortunate to survive the first round with only one win over Zimbabwe, 0-2, while defeats were suffered against Ghana, 1-0, and Nigeria, 2-1.

There have been no recent official meetings between these two teams.

*Cameroon - Côte d'Ivoire

February 4th - Cairo Military Stadium

Cameroon have been one of the most convincing sides at this African Cup of Nations. The match against Angola was won 3-1, after which Togo were defeated 2-0. A 2-0 win over Congo DR in the final match was enough for the group victory.

Côte d'Ivoire were equally impressive in their first two games, a 0-1 victory against Morocco and a 1-2 win over Libya, but the World Cup participants could not compete with Egypt in the third match, and lost 3-1.

These two sides shared a World Cup Qualification group in which Cameroon won their home match 2-0, and their away match 2-3. Despite the two defeats, it was Côte d'Ivoire and not Cameroon to secure a World Cup spot.

*Nigeria - Tunisia

February 4th - Port Said Stadium

Nigeria were set to make up for their World Cup absence, with a good performance at this tournament. Uptil now, they are on the right track with a 1-0 win over Ghana, a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe and a 2-1 win over Senegal.

Tunisia have their 2004 title to defend, and started with a convincing 4-1 win over Zambia, and a 2-0 victory over South Africa. The reigning champions were however defeated by Guinea in their final group match.

These two sides faced each other in the semi finals of the 2004 African Cup of Nations, where Tunisia would eventually win 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
