During today's UFC 116 media conference calls, UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was asked about Batista getting into the MMA business. Lesnar somewhat dodged the question, but did tell Batista to "get in line" as everyone wants to get into fighting these days. Lesnar then said that they were talking about a heavyweight championship match and not "some wannabe."

The working visas of Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett have expired, that's why they have been pulled out from the shows for the meantime. Barrett has been sent back to the UK where he's waiting for the renewal of his visa. McIntyre is possibly still in the US and waiting for his green card application since he's married to Tiffany, one of the Divas

Internet gossip website TMZ recently caught up with UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and did their usual annoying-camera bit. Unless you count junk about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan a score from Brock Lesnar, only one worthy note comes from this particular video.

 

Lesnar was asked about fellow former WWE Superstar Dave Batista joining MMA as he has shown interest in doing recently. Lesnar responded, "Good for him, good luck!" TMZ asked Lesnar whether or not he'd be willing to fight Batista, to which Lesnar replied, "I would fight him, but I don't think he would want to fight me though."

"You really can't compete with that," he said. "Why not deliver a more sophisticated product and not go to those extremes? If the audience wants those extremes, they know where to go and how to get it."

Dark Match:

 

* Alberto Del Rio defeated Tyler Reks.

 

SmackDown, Airing Friday:

 

* SmackDown opens with Drew McIntyre, who has resolved his visa issues. Teddy Long doesn't believe him. Drew nominates him for the 2011 Hall of Fame. Teddy says if Drew wants to be in MITB, he has to get on his knees and call him handsome, saying it's an honor to work for him. Drew does it but Teddy was just messing. Teddy says Drew can be in the match if he beats Kofi Kingston tonight.

 

* MVP vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Dolph Ziggler takes place for a spot in Money in the Bank. Ziggler wins with the sleeper on MVP.

 

* Rey Mysterio is backstage with a cast on. Jack Swagger comes in and puts a submission on the injured ankle. Swagger brings Rey out to the arena but Big Show makes the save. Show carried Rey to the back.

 

* Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins defeated Christian and Matt Hardy. Christian turned his back on Hardy, allowing Hawkins to get the win for his team.

 

* Drew McIntyre beats Kofi Kingston to earn a spot at Money in the Bank. A good match here.

 

* Straight Edge Society comes out. Luke Gallows thinks Serena should be kicked out of the group. Serena apologizes for the video we saw last week. Gallows leaves the ring after Punk says it's his decision. Punk forgives Serena and they hug.

 

* Cody Rhodes defeats JTG. Cody debuts new theme music here.

 

* Kelly Kelly is interviewed. She will face Layla for the Women's Title at Money in the Bank. Layla runs in and sprays Kelly with her perfume. They fight until Michelle McCool attacks Kelly from behind.

 

* It's announced that Nexus will be on next week's NXT.

 

* Big Show vs. Jack Swagger ends in a countout. Swagger goes backstage and runs into Kane. Kane pulls Swagger into a room and threatens him. Swagger has one week to prove that he didn't attack Undertaker.

(1) IC champion Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes went to a No Contest when Kane took them both out.

 

Backstage, World Hvt. champion Rey Mysterio cut a promo, followed by Jack Swagger.

 

(2) Drew McIntyre beat Christian.

 

A promo for Alberto Del Rio aired.

 

C.M. Punk came out to say that the SES was united as a group. Big Show then came out and cut a promo on the Money in the Bank match at the PPV. Eventually, Show chased Punk up a ladder and took his mask off.

 

(3) Chris Masters & Kelly Kelly beat Layla & Trent Beretta with a distraction by Rosa Mendes.

 

(4) Dolph Ziggler beat Matt Hardy.

 

In the final segment, Jack Swagger came out with his father. He had photos the day Undertaker was attacked that proved he wasn't the culprit who put Taker in a vegetative state. Kane didn't believe him. Swagger then put him in an Anklelock, but Mysterio made the save. Kane then chokeslammed and Tombstoned Swagger's father to end the show.

it was announced by Tommy Dreamer and Dixie Carter (she made an on-camera in-ring appearance) that the August 5th TNA Hard Justice PPV will be "one last night" for the former stars of ECW to put on a put an ECW style PPV show that they will be in charge of. The start of the ECW angle begins this Thursday night and then they follow it up with this the following week.

 

looks like tna is trying to revive the old ECW.

lets see what they can do, but for me, still no originality.
