Turk
maybe we can follow the footsteps of the famous tri-athlete Pia Cayetano. She really runs faster than most people here At an early age... She was already an athlete and compete to Palarong Pambansa Ibang level na talaga cya... But still we can catch up if we have the time and proper training... Im looking for a gym Fitness First... Golds Gym... or Slimmersworld any reco? fr? I'll be using it for some toning and strength exercises... Feel and Act like an Athlete ba....Just wanted to improve my running skills ... To do a 42k... sub 2hrs of 21k... and below 50mins of 10k are my target.... Cheers! Quote Link to comment

Cheers! for a moment there i thought you said your 42k goal was a sub 2, how intimidating. my only fitness goal is to have the ability to eat 2 subs and not gain a pound from the effort. fitness first for me is a little better-maintained, the trainers more likely to check on the equipment than at gold's gym. but they're more or less the same overall, i tend to go with what's nearest to my outdoor track so i can do my strength training in the gym and then run out immediately after. Turk
Nope... My goal is to do a 42k.... (target 4hrs and a half) 21k ... sub 2hrs 10k... below 50mins Dungeonbaby.... I find Fitness first a little bit pricey... but really have cool stuffs...since I'll be going to gym only 2x a week for my core exercises... still I'll be doing endurance on the road... Still I'll try Slimmers and Golds Gym.... Trial lang ng trial... Free ng Free in the end baka sa kalsada rin bagsak ko hehehe Quote Link to comment
dungeonbaby
Turk, gold's gym has a P1,400/month promo. but it sounds like you could do one of those workouts recommended by runner's world that doesn't require you to be in a gym. Quote Link to comment

Blue mountain is the one in Sumulong right? Haven't tried the Cogeo route yet but that actually crossed my mind last week, I was kinda wary about the road condition though since most of the roads along Sumulong have been extended already or currently being extended which make's the road wider and safer to jog with and you could take the path of the bikers also. If i'll get some added info. of the route then i'd probably give it a try. Quote Link to comment
Droidz1979
So I finally got to jog from our Subdivision to Blue Mountain Subdivision along Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City (near Hollywood Terrace and Our Lady of Fatima University) with the time of 1 hour and 19 minutes. Saw some joggers going down (i started late i know) and greeted back to some of them like there is an unwritten rule to do so as a sign of respect for the lifestyle choice and the same pain that we have to endure no thanks to the terrain Just a thought, I felt literally spent after the run and had this pet peeve wherein I always end up not having any free newspaper from McDo whenever I arrive there late and whenever their's a sizable crowd around. So I ended up ordering the food "to go" and bought Inquirer at 7-11 in Hollywood Terrace as breakfast never seems to be the same without reading anything in between. I know I always promise to start my run at an earlier time for the succeeding week but somehow end up the same time as I did the previous week, I dunno if you call that lazy but I guess I deserve the extra heat from the sun and the no freebie newspaper from McDo because of it. Have a great Sunday guys! Edited May 13, 2012 by Droidz1979 Quote Link to comment

Haven't got hit by a speeding car/truck so far so I guess it's relatively safe Start my jog at around 6:20AM (it's late I know) but I think the ideal time should be at around 5:30-6AM where it's already clear and there aren't that much vehicles yet on the road. Safest side usually is where the bikers are since they're not that fast enough and they do veer away when they see runners and vehicles are way farther. The climb does seem steep, will probably explore or try it out next weekend but I usually hate downhill runs since its bad for the knees and heel. Heartbreak hill in UP is also steep and so is the one in Tumana but I prefer the steady and long slope along Sumulong Highwat (Siruna to Cloud 9 resort). Somebody told me that there's a killer route/climb in Timberland but it's a bit far and going there is surely a challenge in itself so it's maybe someday for me Edited May 13, 2012 by Droidz1979 Quote Link to comment
