I know, I feel you. It's quite melancholic, and the music just stays with you. You can't help but hum it.

and i love it in the cello arrangement. there is something less sad, less final about it than when played on the piano. am not talented enough to hum it, though.

 

speaking of humming, i've always found Bobby Mcferrin some kind of brilliant, and him humming

Out of boredom I once watched a video of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and to say that it enchanted me beyond belief and expectations is an understatement. Watching all those movements - from the frenetic conducting of Vladimir Azhkenazy, the swaying and bending at the hips while his hands described motions in the air, to the synchronous arm movements of bow to strings of the violinists to the expressive and emotive faces of the flutists brought goosebumps to my flesh. It was so lovely. They were playing Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 and it was beautiful. Hope to get a copy of it soon. What an intro to classical music.

So sad in these days. People would prefer modern and popular music. Filipinos are not interested in classical music. Even OPM music is dying. I hope the gov't will pass a law na sana tangkilikin natin ang musikang atin PLUS learn to appreciate classical music.

i doubt if kids nowadays are aware of who Cecile Licad is. Or Andion Fernandez.

 

But i thought there was a law passed to honor OPM na? Just forgot what it was about.
