Yes, players on util count. The ones on the bench dont.

If there is one thing I have learned in fantasy, it is that there is no such thing as a sure winner. An injury to a major contributor could spell the difference. And remember folks, kahit na yung malakas na team laging may kontra-pelo yan. All you need is to get in to the top 6 or 7 ata to qualify your team for the knockoutr phase. Pag nakarating ka doon all bets are off. Kahit sino may pag-asa.:-)

yes that's true! nangyari sa kin yan last year, all star line up, then lead ako sa league buong season... then nung finals na, most of my players did not play dahil pasok na sila sa playoffs, kaya ayun, tambak ako nung Finals.... kaya ang lesson, dapat hindi lang superstars ang kukunin, dapat pati mga role players din...

...paano ang comp*tation / distribution of points? say, si nene, nasa bench ko today, kasi walang laro (halimbawa lang), tapos, si shareef, next day alang laro, tapos si nene me laro, would it matter if:

 

I. araw-araw ako magshushuffle ng line-up? ang contributions ba nila per day ang computed o kung sino ang line-up mo for the week e fixed na???

 

II. me factor ba ang contribution ng starters vs bench, say, 1/2 lang ung comp*tation nung sa bench???

 

 

...anyways, please let me know... :cool:

i believe all of the teams are competitive right now. it doesn't necessarily translate into a victory if u've got an all-star lineup (but at the back of our minds, yeah it would). like the oldest cliche's in basketball says 'bilog ang bola", meaning anything can happen. plus other factors like injuries, PTs, suspensions, coaches decisions, trades, etc can come into play and affect our teams. all we can do is keep a "keen" eye (ala queer eye for a straight guy :boo: :boo: ) on our teams and the league. plus have "faith' in your players... :thumbsupsmiley:

 

btw gwapogi, cge trade mo na si AK. pahiram mo lang, tapos soli ko rin.. hehehe :cool:

i'll try to answer this, although i'm not sure, but almost true..

 

our league set-up is a head to head type. in yahoo fantasy, teams in head to head type league are match-up as per one week schedule.. teams will accumulate points per day based on whose players you put on the rosters (starters and util). sometimes, all players have games on one day and on this instant you have to choose who will you play to earn fantasy points. bench players will not generate fantasy points for your teams.

 

answer I. some gms fix their lineup on daily basis, others weekly. for me i do it weekly since nakakapag-net lang ako tuwing nasa work. dyahe naman kung lagi akong surf (although, i can't live a work life without net,, hehehe). pag news regarding suspensions or injuries and my players are involve, that's the time i'm going to change my roster daily, or edit it daily. other cases would be if he's on fire or in the groove, maybe i'd consider him on starters or even the util spot for a struggling all star players. teammates' injuries and suspensions, etc is also a factor.

 

answer II. bench players dont count. starters and utils lang. add lahat on pts, asts, rbs, etc... ung percentage on fgs and fts are averaged (i think). then my formula (ata) on computing for total fantasy points. again, i'm not sure but siguro ganun. tama ba commish? sample of comp*tation (yata, hehehe) is Fantasy Points = [pts+reb+ast+blks+3p+fgm+ft%-to]... basta parang ganyan ata.. heheheh

 

if i said some mistakes, please correct me... :cool:

 

anyway, goodluck sa lahat ng gms and their teams.. i believe we'll have fun with our league. :thumbsupsmiley:

the stats compiled by each contributing player (roster player and util) per day are added up per category and will determine the outcome of the match-up for the said week. equal weight is given to the stats of roster and util players. so it doesnt matter if you put a marion or lebron on a util spot. you can change your line-up every day and the stats of those who played for that day will count regardless whether he plays for the rest of the week or not.

Thanks for the props commish, but really, we have a very competitive league so I guess we could thank the draft engine for giving a sense of parity especially since only two clubs had their GM's at the draft.

 

I did a little experiment the other day on Live 06 and assembled all twelve ballclubs (pending any further lineup changes) on a custom league. Cooked up some interesting plotlines over the first week but what cuts the cake for me is---if nba live results "sort of" approximates fantasy ball to a certain extent, it would be very interesting which team comes out on top after all the ruckus...
