Digital Cameras

Recommended Posts

I own 3 cameras Canon IXUS 400, Sony P200 & Canon IXUS 750 and out of all the cameras i have tested, Canon is the best camera to buy. However in the past year Sony and a few others have started to catch up with Canon in terms of picture quality & the quality of the lens. I feel though Canon has taken a step back last year when they started using the SD card while it is great for size and such but the picture quality of my IXUS 400 is much more sharper, focus is clear and less grainy than the IXUS 750 however not by much.

Problems with the new IXUS range has been the reliability of the 9 AiAF, purple fringing galore, construction of the LCD but this was later corrected when they released the 750 and models with "50 / 10" number range late last year.

I havent tested any new digital cameras from Canon this year but I'd like to see how the new DiG!C III chip goes. It should be better than the DiG!C II seeing how they claim the focus metering is way faster and its not like the DiG!C II chip was slow either! The new face detect technology should be an added bonus for close up focus and exposures...

And just one little tid-bit is the lack of manual controls on the point & shoot cameras of Canon...

I'll be looking to buy the new IXUS 900 Ti & Sony N2 in the next two months...I also got the Sony T-10/T-50 on my eyes or go for the cheaper T-30, a camera basically just for gimicks and such...

But im much more excited to get my first D-SLR camera this Christmas the Canon EOS-400D Silver Body.

Is there a review, where i can compare both SONY and Canon Lenses???

Sony Lens?? there is no Sony Lens. Sony does not manufacture their own lens for their cameras. They buy it from a different company-Vario Tessar.. Only Canon, Nikon, Olympus are only makers of million dollar lenses used by NASA, TV's programs, medicine field, microscopes etc..

Even Sony buys lens for their chip production from these 3 companies.
