Yes it can be done arthroscopically meaning inserting camera inside the shoulder joint and repairing the rotator cuff muscles the help in shoulder motion which is very important specially in athletic individual much more in mma. Surgery depends on what rotator cuff and how severely torn it is.

Gents,

Any orthopedic surgeon/rehabilitation doctors here?

I have a question regarding dislocation/fractures and the like.

Kasi my cousin have a second right shoulder dislocation that occurred two years ago early 2011 dahil sa isang practice match sa MMA. with proper treatment and rehabilitation sa sikat na government hospital e naka-recoever siya ng mabuti. As per previous advise by the doctor ay wag na daw siya mag engage sa MMA sports dahil sa injury. So tumigil na siya for about two years na, pero recently may nakausap din kasi siya na conditioning coach at MMA professional na pwede pa daw siya mag MMA in consideration na dapat magpa surgery siya to tighten the muscle and undergo a different set therapy.

Ang tanong ko po ay possible ba talaga yung sinabi ng MMA coach at professional? and if ever, magkano ang magiging cost nun (surgery, therapy, conditioning, etc)?

please share your suggestions, opinions. All comments are highly appreciated.

Hi to any doctors. For 4 days now, when I have an erection in the morning, there is a sweling as if engorged at the base (underpart) of my penis in the area connecting almost the balls (bayag). The testes or bayag does not hurt. There is no discharge or secretion. This only happens when erect. Otherwise when not erect, there is no pain whatsoever and no swelling.Urination is normal. When i grip my penis like gripping a tennis racket or golf club or say a sword, the pain and swelling is located underneath the base where the pinky finger grips it (the thumb and pointy finger is near the head). When erected and i angle my penis upward as if to rest on my tummy and touch my belly button, , there is pain in the said area (base of penis almost connecting the yagbols). But if the penis is erect and not angled upward but the usual 90 degree angle to my body standing up, no pain in the said area. Any comments? Opinions? First time this happened. 4 days ago i also masturbated vigorously and myi pulled down my tight pants so that the lining of the pants' waist rested on that area (as if i was going to pee). But that's about it. I am in my early 40s and monogamous.

docs,

why is it every-time i lay down ( dapa ) after a few minutes, i will get a cold it will start by feeling of pleghm ( plema ) building up on my throat then next is my nose then will start clogging.

once i sit down or lay on my back it will go away but if i lay on my chest ( dapa ) too long the pleghm will stay and it takes time to get rid of it

thanks in advance to those who would reply

in simplest terms, an incomplete right bundle branch block means a slight delay in the electrical current in your heart. Usually, it is a benign finding, being present in around 5-6% of the normal population and not associated with any heart attacks. Further testing like a 2d echo or a treadmill test may be required depending on your symptoms.

PM me if you have you any more questions

hmmm... sounds like an allergic rhinitis with a trigger due to pressure or maybe humidity changes when you lie face down on a pillow... hard to tell though...

Hello docs!

The arch of my left foot hurts like hell whenever I walk. It feels like a muscle or ligament is stretched-pulled-to its limits. Additionally, my left leg feels like it'll suffer from cramps all the time. However, if you feel my calf, it's soft. I can't do the Indian sit or a sitting yoga pose without feeling my leg startin to hurt.

Any specialist I can consult? TIA!

any ortho doctor here who know what is the ballpark figure for a hip replacement? my fathers hip got fractured due to a fall and we went to makati med ER earlier. Doctor advised the my father needs hip replacement and needs to be admitted. I asked what is the ballpark figure but the doctor cannot give any estimate. she told me that only an ortho can give the estimate since shes a resident. We decided to not proceed with the surgery for now since we dont have that much money. appreciate it if anybody can help. Thanks!

i just want to ask what are the risks and if it's advisable to remove the ovaries. my mother went to three doctors, they found out that there's a cyst on her ovary. thankfully the cyst is benign. all three doctors are saying that it would be better if they remove her ovaries as well to prevent cysts development. i really need your advice regarding this. i'm scared about the risks. do you think it is advisable to remove also her ovaries versus taking out just the cyst? hope you guys can help me on this. please. thank you very much

hi nouseforaname.

yes i would recommend the same thing (i.e. oophorectomy) primarily because of the ff reasons --

1. she is past her reproductive age, thus preservation of ovaries is not a priority anymore at this point

2. some studies have shown that ovarian cysts may eventually lead to ovarian cancer, which is a cancer predominantly occurring among the elderly (60 and above).

3. the surgical procedure is relatively safe. But just be aware that like any other surgery, and given her age, there might be chances for risks to happen. Let your surgeon explain these to you clearly. Im not saying that they will happen, of course, but statistically, the probabilities are there.

this makes me the 4th doctor and i hope this helps. smile.gif but since i do not know the full case and have not examined the patient, then do understand that my opinion matters the least wink.gif

thanks for the response. i think we're going ahead with the operation...how safe is it? is it like a minor operation that you can go home the next day? thanks really appreciate all your responses! happy easter!
