blue_blooded
If we use your argument that Morales's extreme drop in weight was the culprit in the early knockout, it wouldn't make sense to conclude that Pacquiao would lose in the later rounds. Morales will only get weaker as the fight progresses precisely because of the loss of power for losing too much weight to the lead up. While Pacquiao, judging from his previous fights, gets stronger or at elast remains consistently strong over the duration of a long fight. Judging from the historicals, if Morales escaped Pacquiao in the early rounds, he will be out of strength, power and resiliency to avoid the Pacman in the later rounds. On the next argument that Pacquiao is lucky that he met only a shadow of the Morales, that could be partly true but with the disparity in age and experience, Morales at his best (probably during the height of the Barrera figths up until the first bout with Manny) will never get the chance to meet Pacquiao at his best (which we will probably see in the next 2-3 fights). To counter your view further that the best of Morales could have easily defeated Manny, well the facts don't lie, the best of Morales versus a distracted Pacquiao on the rise could only net a slim unanimous decision for El Terrible that could have won either way. Regardless, everything is water under the bridge. Pacquiao won two bouts, by career ending knockouts and Morales will never have the chance to get payback. Pacquiao is the best pound per pound now (with apologies to Floyd Mayweather) as he has fought the better opponents this year. Morales shelf life has expired and as much as some would want to dwell on his past glory just to diss Pacquiao, it will be futile. Manny as a boxer is still on the way up as he is still learning. God save this division once Manny masters the sweet science. He's already way above anybody else now. The best chance for the best featerweights/jr. lightweights had to beat him was probably three fights ago. Now its just a rout. Manny will be battling himself more than he will battle other great boxers. Not even the great Marco Barrera comes close. In the end what will beat Manny is father time and desire when he has ran out of challenges. And in the end, when all three of them make it to the Boxing Hall of Fame, Pacquaio's name will always be mentioned in higher stead and history will rank him as one of the best ever featherweights of all time. naka tsamba lang talaga si pacquiao kasi sobra bawas ni morales timbang. kung inabot ni pacman ang dating morales...naku patay si pacman dahil gagawing pulutan ni erik si pacman. kung umabot yun ng 6th round wala na laban pacman....kunwari lang yung may sakit siya kasi paRA kung sakali matalo ay may excuse gaya ng excuse niya noon sa medyas....gusto lang niya magka sponsor sa bio-flu or biogesic..ha ha ah naka tsamba lang talaga si pacquiao kasi sobra bawas ni morales timbang. kung inabot ni pacman ang dating morales...naku patay si pacman dahil gagawing pulutan ni erik si pacman. kung umabot yun ng 6th round wala na laban pacman....kunwari lang yung may sakit siya kasi paRA kung sakali matalo ay may excuse gaya ng excuse niya noon sa medyas....gusto lang niya magka sponsor sa bio-flu or biogesic..ha ha ah If we use your argument that Morales's extreme drop in weight was the culprit in the early knockout, it wouldn't make sense to conclude that Pacquiao would lose in the later rounds. fatso8
A good fight for Pacquiao would be Edwin Valero, the undefeated WBA champ. Power versus power. Valero has KOd EVERY opponent he has faced, 18 of them in the first round. Pacquiao should not go up to 135 because the guys there are just too big for him, and have enough power to go toe-to-toe with him. Eto dream match ko ngayon.. Edwin Valero is the WBA superfeather champ, 20W-0L-20KOs.. Yung 1st 18 fights nya, 1st round KO.. Yung 19th fight, 2nd round KO.. Last fightwas a 10th round KO. The quality of his opponents though, di ako sure.. pero kahit si Manny, di ganun ka-impressive ang record sa 1st 20 fights nya. According to rumors, March 2007 sa Macau ang laban (di kasi medically cleared si Valero to fight in the US because of previous brain surgery). Pero kung money fight, the most logical would be Barrera.. Problem is Golden Boy promotes Barrera, tingnan natin kung papayag si dela Hoya na promote ni Arum yung laban. Quote Link to comment

Pepeng Manas
tsamba or no tsamba ... talo talaga si morales. si morales nga mismo natanggap that pacquiao was the better fighter that night. He offered no excuses. it's a pity that some of his fans still offer some excuses wink.gif agree. it doesn't matter how he won (or lost). what matters is the outcome. a few years after, nobody will remember that someone lost because of weight loss, low quality socks, gloves that dont fit, etc. how many people here can remember which teams did Boston Celtics beat during their dynasty? (some people might answer it correctly.. but my point is how many people can?) all we know is that the Celtics were winners during those times.. and i wasn't even around yet but i know they built a dynasty during those times. i was actually disappointed when Pacquiao used excuses like uncomfortable socks, low quality gloves, etc.. after his loss to Morales the first time around. although i believe it's propbably true, he still lost. that's what matter. the mexicans doesn't care about those stuffs. morales won... that's it. for all we know, erik morales might have some excuses, too, when he lost his fight against pacman the second time around. we just didn't hear about it because what matters to us is that pacman won. good thing there was a third time to prove that pacman is really the winner. now, even our future children will know the name Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. that's the most important thing. to have a place in history as a winner. congrats, pacman! mabuhay ka. and i salute Erik Morales, too, for being such a sport. i bow my head to him. peep_tom
SAbihin nyo na ang gusto nyo sabihin pero Pagquiao was at his best on that fight. I think kahit anong round pa yon matapos pareho pa din result, ang difference lang baka mas gulpi si Morales. Pero mga tsong hats off ako kay Morales, he showed what a real champion is, kahit hilonh hilo na lumalaban pa din. Congratulations Manny and Congratulations mga Pinoy!!! Ilabas na ang San Miguel Beer, sagot lahat ni Pacman. Quote Link to comment
