It's basically about energy balance.

Food = Energy = Calories

Calories In Vs. Calories Out.

The only way to lower our body's Fat % is by being in a state of calorie deficit.

By determining our maintenance calories (which differs from person to person. Some may have a low set point while others can have a very high set point [a.k.a. hard gainers])

You can lose weight by eating less calories and or burning more calories than your maintenance calories

You can gain weight by eating more calories and or conserving more calories than your maintenance calories
