zeratul10
hope you guys can help po..had unprotected sex with a girl i meet in a party.after a few months i started to notice parang mga pimples randomly growing on my body so i decided to go to a clinic to have cbc, above normal white blood cells ko,so i decided to have hiv test after 9 months of the encounter. negative naman resullt ko nag pa syphillis at hepa test nadin negative lahat. my questions are: 1. how accurate is the genscreen hiv ag-ab combination in determining if u are hiv positive?2. why is it that up until now above normal padin white cell count ko pag cbc me?3 i also did my research i think i have herpes although its not confirmed. lastly cod u guys endorse a clinic na may mga std test na ok at reliable and a urologist na ok at reasonable din price..and up to now may mga pimple like padin growing in my body pero they do heal.hope you can help me and i can finally resolve this so i will have peace of mind na. thanx Quote Link to comment

The HIV test has a high specificity, meaning na if it is positive, almost sure na na you have HIV infection. BUT (and it's a big but) remember na ang incubation period/window period of HIV is very variable. It can range from months to years. And may I ask, bakit mo naman naisip na magpatest for HIV? Ikaw ba nagrequest or yung doctor mo ang nag order nito? Just curious. 2. Increased white blood cell count (WBC) can be due to a lot of factors. Kahit nga sipunin ka lang e pwedeng mag increase ang WBC count mo. It could be that you have an ongoing infection which is totally unrelated dun sa symptoms mo ngayon. My best advice is to go see a Urologist or an Infectious disease specialist. Mahirap kasi mag diagnose online. They will know better kung ano ang dapat gawing work up sa yo. The big hospitals have Outpatient departments where the list of doctors are listed together with their specialties. Pili na lang kayo doon.
