Does anybody have any information or opinions about getting checked for STDs in a Healthway Branch? Am thinking of having myself and my girl checked there because of the convenient locations.

So far, the only thing I don't like about Healthway is that the specialists' schedules aren't very accomodating, but I guess for STD screening going to a General Practitioner would be ok, right?

go to remedios clinic near taft forgot the exact address. call this 5240924 tanong mo na lang. very discreet talaga yan ok. may combo sila hiv and hepa ata mga P700 tapos pag negative result refundable ata P300

dito rin ako nagpatest. discreet nga siya, di ka mahihiya. DOH accredited pa to so walang lokohan. P700 is the price for the standard HIV 1/2 test (using Serodia) and correct, refundable yung 300 if you're negative.

only having a test will give you peace of mind.

Feeling ko mamamatay muna ako sa heart attack bago pa ako makapag test, eh. 2 months is too long a wait. is there any other test that can detect the virus even before you develop anti bodies for hiv?

yung waiting period nga lang for the results, nakamamatay na :P di ako makatulog, makatrabaho, etc. buti na lang, nung naparanoid ako w/ regards to my HIV status, it was exactly 92 days = 13 weeks = three months.

pero i've learned my lesson. do not search the internet for symptoms, do not obssess on everything.

im not sure kung merong 4th Generation ELISA dito sa pinas, pero you can search for it. kasi yung 4th generation ELISA, it can detect as early as 6 weeks post-exposure. sabi nila sa San Lazaro hospital 4th gen daw. i havent been there but you can try asking.

hang in there pare, try to do other things muna to distract yourself. mahirap talaga, pero try mo lang. time flies fast if your busy w/ things.

That's the problem nga eh... nakapag research na ako sa sobrang anxiety ko. Now I think I'm imagining things na. It's so maddening talaga. Every thing I'm feeling tuloy exaggerated.

Lesson learned: don't depend too much on the condom... it tears down. Next time I'll try a safer kind of sex: abstinence...

Kaya comfort thought ko ngayon is that statistically men have less than 1% chance of getting HIV from vaginal sex. That is, assuming my partner was HIV positive in the first place...

it tears down if not used properly. always make sure to "pinch" the tip when rolling down the condom para walang air -- this usually is the cause of breakage. i've used condoms all the time and it never broke. i got paranoid lang just due to the fact that i had sex w/ a g4h. now that im negative, i promised myself to never again do it w/ a g4h. and as always, always use condoms.

i have a very strong feeling that you're negative. you were protected until the condom broke.

and safer kind of sex is not abstinence but sex w/ a partner of known status = and with a condom. :) or masturbation, if you like.

:P

hang on pre. kaya yan :)

it takes 2 months before you get to know the results ? Did i get that right ? In the US they have Rapid Testing takes around 20 mins to get the results, do they have that here ? any feedback on how long it takes to get the results from the one in taft and san lazaro ? :D

Thanks. Hope you're right.

It's partly the girl's fault din why the condom broke, eh... she used a vaginal suppository (which I'm assuming is petroleum-based) to tighten her opening. So na weaken yun condom.

Although protected most of the time nga, it would only take that one unfortunate series of mishaps for the HIV to have gotten in. But they say naman it would have to take a lot of the virus to be able to infect someone... hopefully it rings true for me...

Geez, this is an active thread.

Mga fellows, I sympathize, but gentlemanyaks, its not the end of the world.

While its true that it may not be possible to guarantee that you will have complete clearing of the virus from your system, the vast majority of successfully treated patients enjoy trouble free lives. In fact, some studies have pointed out nga na up to 3/4 of the US population may have been exposed to HPV and not have any infection or any symptoms.

While there is the possibility of recurrence, this possibility is relatively slight. No doctor will give you a guarantee but most if not all will reassure you about the condition.

Let's put it this way, parang herpes lang yan. It never totally goes away, but it does get better! And when you're well, there's very very little chance of infecting others.

Pinagkaiba lang warts, is the ugly warts themselves that do NOT get better without treatment.

I hope I have given even a little reassurance, mga kapatid.
