Agent_mulder
At the rate it is rising nakaka-alarma talaga, though the number of cases pales in comparison sa may AIDS/HIV sa ibang bansa.. Edited January 29, 2010 by Agent_mulder Quote Link to comment
kamote042988
some people fear this.. and yet they don't have a clue on what HIV/AIDS really is.. people are not that informed about AIDS...the rate it is spreading is very alarming.... daredevil67011
If they say it's an epidemic, then it really is. The DOH has criteria on when to declare an epidemic or not! I think it's already considered an epidemic if the number of cases in a given population exceeds what they forecasted or something like that (Med professionals, help nga pa-define ng epidemic). Hehe. camiar
You don't just claim that there is an epidemic. Did the DOH release any declaration about an HIV epidemic?
One alarming record is... Philippines HIV time bomb grossly exaggeratedAlthough the Philippines is a low HIV incidence country, the media often reports that the Philippine government has concealed the extent of the HIV/AIDS problem. The truth is that the most recent report (2007) by the World Health Organization puts a maximum estimate for HIV/AIDS incidence at 0.000125 for the total population and deaths from AIDS and deaths from AIDS in 2007 as <500 in 2007 (or 0.00000568 of the population. http://apps.who.int/globalatlas/predefined.../EFS2008_PH.pdf However, recent findings suggest that there is indeed cause for continued awareness of the development of the infection rate Quote Link to comment
