Dear BIR experts,

Is there an industry standard on how the settlement for the LOA should be divided?

Last year, the settlement for a friend's business LOA was divided as follows:

50,000 for deficiency in taxes

140,000 for BIR officials

total settlement: P190,000

It was later found out that the money was actually divided as follows:

50,000 for deficiency in taxes

100,000 for BIR officials

40,000 pocketed by the business agency

total settlement: P190,000

The business has a reported gross sales of P3.5M

Withholding taxes paid is over 25,000

Income tax paid is over 50,000

The business agency charges a monthly retainers fee of P2,750

The business is actually not doing well, but the figures are sometimes bloated because my friend want to look good in front of his old parents.

Question: Is it about time for my friend to look for another business agency?

I feel that it is more urgent to upgrade your memory first. And adding a 'Kingston' 2GB 1333 ddr3 @P2,290 is good enough.

If you feel the urge to 'future-proof' your desktop, I suggest getting a Intel Core i5-750 (2.66G) 8mb LGA1156 @P10,140.

Like I said earlier, your videocard won't give you problems as long as games are played at a resolution of 1366x768. This resolution is supported by most 16 and 18.5 inch monitors. However, if you have plans to play at a resolution of 1920x1080 which is commonly used by 21.5, 23, 24, and 25 inch monitors, I suggest changing your videocard to Inno3D GTX460 1gb ddr5 256b @ P11,390

If you have already bought Intel i5 661, I don't find it logical to upgrade to a 4 core processor because:

1. Up to now, only a few games are designed to take advantage of a 4 core processor.

2. Games that are not designed to take advantage of a 4 core processor will not run any smoother.

3. On games that are not designed to take advantage of a 4 core processor, the Intel i5 661 will perform as well or even better than some 4 core processor.

"Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2" - runs better if your conputer has 3 cores

'Battlefield - Bad Company 2 - runs better of your computer has 3 cores etc . . .

You will be fine with a 2 core processor

Ram: you need 4 gigabyte

Graphics: As long as your monitor was set at 1366x768, you don't need to upgrade your cards.

Hindi po. Ang statutory rape ay pakikipagtalik sa isang batang babae na BELOW 12 years old o di kaya'y pakikipagtalik sa isang babaeng baliw {kahit pa pumayag ang mga ito}. Ang pakikipagtalik sa isang menor-de-edad ay hindi statutory rape (although maaaring bumagsak ito sa child abuse}. Pero kung nasa edad na siya ngayon, mahihirapan siyang patunayan ito dahil bakit nakisama pa rin siya ke lalaki ng siya ay nasa edad na.

Would it be best to suggest to her to wait for her live-in to beat her up? Para may evidence of violence?

Then go to the nearest hospital (ie San Lazaro Hospital) to get a medical report to show to the police precient as evidence so that the police report would be credible?

On demanding games, they are good only up to 1280x1024. Beyond that resolution, glitches starts showing up.

The problem with playing with 3 monitors is the 3rd monitor should have a connector for displayport - which unfortunately is not available in the Philippines.

You can use a 'active displayport to vga connector' but it is very expensive (about USD100) and it is not available in the Philippines.

This is true, fully synthetic oils (any brand) has an almost double life expectancy. Think of it this way, Mineral Oil = 5,000 Kms ; Semi-Synthetic = 7,500 Kms ; Fully Synthetic = 10,000 Kms

anything done by Gokongwei is sure to be not worth it. Just like my crappy experiences with Sun Cellular and Cebu Pacific. Just my two cents.

A lot of Gokongwei products are a bit cheaper than the competition, but the quality is also a bit below par.

actually, I don't pay the annual fee anymore, I just tell them that I no longer want to use the card everytime after they charge me the annual fee - and for the past 4 years they have waived the annual fee....
