  1. I think it is about time for us scuba divers to convince the Department of Education to include scuba diving as a elective for physical education, that way we can raise the level of environmental awareness in our children. It is already being done in the other countries.

  2. I hope not to offend anyone. But in my honest opinion, I think Filipino students are labeled as "tamad" coz i think most Filipino families accept mediocrity. I noticed this when i mingled with my husband's relatives. They would give praise to children having grades of 80++ or 90++ , or even getting a third honor. I was at first baffled. So when did grades of 80++ deemed high??? And they were so proud of their children showing me the test scores. Again, i couldn't say anything.

Media is also not helping in uplifting the values of our students. Movies and TV shows always feature love stories, young romance, barkada, etc.

I had a chance to have Indian classmates and Chinese classmates (chinese from mainland china). On the first day of class, they finished reading the whole book. and It was not a soft subject, it was a Fixed income Investment class. Hard core yun. So the entire first day was spent on their asking questions to clarify what they read. Amazing, isn't it.? Kelan pa nangyari ito sa school natin, kung saan binasa na ng students lahat ng nasa libro even before the start of the class.

I know some 2nd gen Chinese parents try to anticipate on the topics that would be taught on the following week and insist on their kids to study them on weekends.

In my case, my English subjects improve after I was expose to porno. I drive myself to study hard because all the porno materials were in English.

  3. which is better lcd or led? i bought an led LG is it any good?

The power consumption of an LED monitor is only about half of that of LCD.

Can anyone tell me where can I buy 'dual link DVI cables'?

    Thanks

  4. After wanting one when it was first announced, i changed my mind.

Why? I spent a day with one (borrowed from a friend) and there are just some things i can't do with it that i can do with a laptop or netbook; it can't multitask, can't handle flash, i can't fiddle with its internals or OS settings, and speed-typing on it without any form of external keyboard was a frustrating task (after 30 minutes of typing a word document i felt like gnawing my fingers off!). The interface was zippy and responsive though just like my IPod. And there lay the problem...it's just a glorified and oversized IPOD/IPhone, there's nothing innovative about it (my two cents). I think i'll stick with using laptops and netbooks where i can actually perform computer-centric tasks.

I think I am happier if I had a laptop with touchscreen.

  5. I'm A SCUBA diver and and avide snorkler if not SUCBA diving...

    A. For Snorkeling and general beach, water, pool, river rafting use I got the Lumix DMC-TS2. Rated upto 30ft, shockproof upto 2 meters drop, and freezeproof ( i guess for skiing purposes or wintersports). It is a very good multipurpose rough and tough camera and takes exceptional photos with bright light but has weaknesses when it comes to low lighting especialy under water. Very good MACRO though (Both above and underwater).

    B. When going deeper than 30feet as in SCUBA diving. I use a Nikon P5100 with a sea&sea housing rated to 200ft and also use an external strobe. Got no complaints with image quality so far with this set-up.

*** ALL camera onboard FLASH is useless underwater as you get a backscatter effect due to the particles suspended in the water and the power of the flash is not sufficient to penetrate the water column.

I'll post some pics taken from both camera shortly...

How much did you spend for the Nikon P5100 and the sea&sea housing?

  6. Go there on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

There are less people querying for rides early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

While the hotels in HK Disneyland (Hollywood & Disney) is a bit more expensive, it is worth it because:

    1) You can book a ticket at the hotel & avoid the query at the park

    2) The rooms, beds, & LCD TV (2 for each bed) are bigger than other hotels in Hong Kong.

    3) The breakfast buffet is top rate.

    4) There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the park.

    5) It would be a very memorable experience for your kids.
