  1. add 'dog day afternoon'

Some of the most influential movies came out of the 70s.

JAWS - it made everyone think twice about going to the beach and gave people the awareness of what sharks can do

STAR WARS - it changed the way science fiction and special effects are presented..forever.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER - immortalized the disco era on film

THE GODFATHER (Parts 1 & 2) - changed the way mob movies were made..forever

THE FRENCH CONNECTION - changed the way car chase scenes were made..forever

SUPERMAN - you never saw a comic book superhero this way before and immortalized the late Christopher Reeve

THE EXORCIST - you never saw a demon at its worst before Father Merrin... and a 360 degree head twisting too

  2. yes i remembered thats the girl. so does anyone have a copy of the "sinta" soundtrack?

have you seen it? dont you agree its too way ahead of its time? the downside, though, is "sinta" is a direct translation of the musical "fantasticks".

The ingenue's name was CATHY MELENDRES(Z). She is currently one of the singers in a 70's band .. I forgot the name.
  3. meron be sa inyong me naitagong album ng soundtrack ng movie na 'sinta'.

sinta was filmed during the 70s. its the movie version of the longest running play of the same title by onofre pagsanjan, annually staged by dulaang bagong sibol of ateneo. it was directed by a 21-yo theater personality named dindo angeles. it starred ariosto reyes and (i forgot the name of the girl). dito rin nagsimula yung tandem ni subas herrero and noel trinidad. musical scorers are ryan cayabyab, quito colayco and bong penera. astig!

it was too way ahead of its time.

and also baka meron sa inyong nakapagtago ng song ni joel navarro na 'swerte swerte lang'

    salamat.

  4. opinyon ko. quinito henson is the worst. trying to be knowledgable and nba-like. but is really stupid. chino trinidad too. stupid and biased lalo na pag phil vs other countries ang kino-cover. ed picson is the best. sooo pinoy. no pretentions of hollywood. trivializes the sport for the layman. and no biases.

    very entertaining and inteligent too.
  5. I'm choosing between Nikon D80 & Canon EOS 30D... I've got a month to decide... help naman po :P

digital slr mas biased ako sa canon. nikon is better with traditional photography. try looking at eos 400d if entry level ang hinahanap mo. although ok na rin for professional photography. or kung advanced yung 5d. there are a lot of reviews available sa net. hope this helps.

  6. ganda nitong thread na to para sa mga mahilig sa pba! congrats sa nagsimula.

anyway, dead na ba si alfarero? last ive seen on tv scavenger na sya. after giving the philippines championship. si abe king last ive heard sa news nakapatay when he was still involved in politics. pinasok sya sa bahay and inarmalite nya yung mga pumasok. and he escaped sa states. namatay na ba?

    lista natin mga patay na

    1. Arnie Tuadles

    2. Rey Cuenco

    3. Jack Tanuan

    4. Teddy Alfarero

    5. Alex Clarino

    6. Abe King

  7. paquiao in the hype is ok. what is sickening is how abs cbn is making so much showbiz out of it. understandable naman. pera yan e. lets pray for paquiao. pero if he loses. something positive may come out of it. baka maging wake up call na rin sa kanya. pero sana manalo pa rin.

  8. mick pennisi,

kriminal. i cant understand how the commentators can defend him in the guise of an accident in the the tejada incident. obviously it was done intentionally. siguro he wasnt expecting ganon yung magiging magnitude of his act. blatanly done intentionally.

  9. try ian lee's medium is the massage, a smala-spoof of medium is the message. and the 3rd word war.

Hi Guys, just finished reading two Dan Brown's... like it a lot...  :thumbsupsmiley:  although i must admit that im not much of a fan of the suspense thriller type... im more into the mitch albom style... sublime, easy and soothing to the soul... much like a book you'd read while in a hammock, under a shade of tall tree, enjoying the last few days of summer... any suggestions guys? tuesday's and five people you meet in heaven were splendid, im looking for the same types... =)

nonetheless if you a good book of any type or theme in mind, then feel free to suggest them... it would be helpful if you could say a little something about the book, without spilling too much of course... :P
