Doc,
First things first- Flankers for the PAF would be truly awesome!
Anyway, the PAF had at least two F-5Bs wearing the four (not three) color camo scheme. One, Serial No. 13380 (one of the oldest F-5s in PAF inventory; Ive built at least 4 kits of this bird, hence Ive memorized the serial), wore the dark green/green/tan/gray undersides scheme that was common sight in the 90s. This plane actually was a part of the Blue Diamonds then.
The other F-5B (serial ends in "991" if memory serves me right) wore the classic SEA (ala Vietnam USAF colors, or close to it) camo. This was a former Taiwanese bird, given to the PAF in exchange for a P-51 displayed in the PAF Museum.

Yeah, I looked it up after seeing your project, and I came up with only M-60s, M-48s and overhauled M-41s.
Thats a really great concept, though. I read that Taiwan really wanted to get their hands on the M-1s. Looking forward to your project, Doc!
Btw, I also tremendously enjou doing what-ifs. Ive built Phil Air Force F-16, F-20 and a Gripen before. One of these days Ill post some pics here.
-
Doc,
Is that a Taiwanese Abrams? Cool! I admit, Ive never seen one before.

Dont thank me yet. I havent done the Huey yet.

Ahehehe!! Kaw talaga Doc. Hehehe!
Cruzer,
Im not promising anything, but Ill see what we can do.
-
Cruzer,
I dont know. Ive seen 1/350 Sea Kings and Seahawks but I havent seen a Huey in that scale.

Vielen Dank Herr Boelcke!
How long did it take to build?
I had to hoard the whole Macross fleet from Special Toys since Hasegawa has a penchant for doing special short production runs only. It takes a long while before they produce again. Same with Fine Molds which is a much smaller company than Hasegawa.
This took me about 2 months or so to build.

Thanks Doc! Actually, thats where I got this kit.
Btw, Floppy, heres a link to a schematic drawing of the VF-1, showing the flaps in down position:

Thanks Floppy!
Yes, the VF-1 has flaps. I used as reference a scanned instruction sheet for some resin upgrade set for a VF-1 kit, plus 2 cross-sectional schematic drawings I downloaded from the internet. You might be able to come across these schematic drawings too when you surf the web.
I dont have the Battroid, though. I thought Id build this one and that may be it. Ang mahal kasi ng Hasegawa Macross series kits. This one cost me P1,350.

Latest thing off my bench.
Its a 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1A Valkyrie from the Macross series. Been wanting to build one for the longest time.
I superdetailed the cockpit and canopy, opened up the engine bay and other access panels and made the interior details from scratch. I also dropped the leading and trailing edges and scratch-built the slats.
Hope you like it.

Doc,
Naah. I dont buy any WW2 stuff. I mean, its great reading about WW2 or watching movies/documentaries about it, but Ive lost interest in building WW2 model subjects since the late 80s.
-
Looking forward to your tank, Doc!
-
Thanks Doc!
-
Thank you, sir.

Heres the latest off my workbench. Its a 1/144 Revell E-3A Sentry.
The basic kit is 26 years old. First made in 1982, and the quality shows its age. Its really very crude. I had to rescribe the whole thing and make new gear doors and aerials from scratch.
Hope you like it.

The M-1's coming along nicely, Doc!
-
Looking forward to in-progress pics, Doc!

Ey Doc! Thats my favorite tank! Looking forward to your build.
Did the mineplough come in a different color mold, or did you pre-paint it?
-
I bought mine in flight for US$26, set of 2 (B747 & A340). $13 each, maybe
I was also going to get a pair, may nauna sakin. Sigh. They looked really great pa naman.
-
Mga sir, where can i find a hasegawa 1:72 p-51d mustang kit?
Why not get an Academy P-51D instead? Its a lot cheaper and has finely recessed panel lines.
-
Nice M-10 Caloyski!
Whats next on your workbench?
-
Havent really looked at boxes of them when Im in the hobby shop. How much is the average price? Say, the A340?
I want to get some PAL birds. Ive taken a ride on every plane type in PAL's current fleet.
-
Ganda!!
Those things are expensive, right? Ive always wanted to collect PAL planes.

Heres something I made years ago. A what-if PAF Gripen. Dont you just wish we had something as modern as this?
