  1. Lim on Yeo - Mercado Trade:

In essence, Lim said Mercado can do the things Yeo can do - plus he can also defend.

“Mahirap naman magkaroon ng comparison, but it’s just that we need Sol dahil alam mo naman, si Sol, he’s a tough defender, plus he can also score and push the ball as well just like Joseph,” Lim told Spin.ph.

“But I think pagdating sa defensive side, mas kailangan namin si Sol,” he added of the 31-year-old Mercado, who will be playing for his third team this season after splitting his 20 games with San Miguel and Barako Bull where he averaged 8.1 points, 3.6 assists and 3.5 assists in 27 minutes of play.

Lim pointed out that his point guard rotation will now be made up of LA Tenorio, Mercado and Eman Monfort, while veterans Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand and Josh Urbiztondo will be splitting time in the two-guard spot.

Import Orlando Johnson can play the wing or slide to the two-guard spot at times, depending on matchup situations.

I dont buy the Mercado is a better defender thing. I think i ti trade din nila yang si Sol banda banda dyan. Lets see on Friday

  2. there were little bit of rumors on twitter last night about pringle not playing. Dahil daw on the way na sa trade kaya hindi na pinalaro baka ma injury pa. I did not watch the game last night so im not sure about this.

    wag naman sana sa Ginebra.

  3. Wait...if they have LA, mercado, monfort, helterbrand, urbuztondo plus knuttel ba yun?

OLD fast and furious combination. Mukhang delikado na si LA, over sekyu na sila, walang trade value sina urbiztondo, knuttel at monfort. mukhang gagamitin nila si LA to get a draft pick (Lanete or Rosario I suppose) habang mataas pa ang trade value.

Ang planong kapalitan ni MC47 ay yung mongolian barbecue at si Ellis which I think is like this:

PG Rotation: LA (kung aabot), JJ, Mercado

    SG Rotation: Mongolian, MC47, Ellis

    SF Rotation: Import, Mac45, Brondial

PF Rotation: Aguilar, Marcelo (very thin rotation)

C Rotation: Slaughter, Pena (weakest rotation)

Brondial will probably be inserted sa PF rotation depending on the import condition/situation

How can you run if you cant control the boards?

  4. PAKTAY...DO WE SEE THE HANDS OF NOS. 47 & 13 HERE? TSK TSK TSK SA AKIN LANG YEO IS A GUTSIER AND MORE EXPLOSIVE PLAYER THAN SOL. OR MAYBE IF WE SEE IT OTHERWISE, SOL COULD BE A GOOD RELIEVER FOR L.A. OR VICE VERSA.

If sol would be the planned backup of LA, pano si JJ? this means longer chess playing time for urbiztondo and monfort.

  5. joseph yeo traded for sol mercado. ayus!

Ginebra trades Joseph Yeo to Barako Bull for Sol Mercado in one-on-one swap

    http://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/news/joseph-yeo-sol-mercado-ginebra-trade-barako-bull-frankie-lim-pba-deal

Yeo is a better defender and more tough than mercado. age wise? hindi naman larong matanda si the ninja.. dahil ba hindi makasundo nung 2 diva??

I pity Sol, 3 team movements in the last 2 conferences.

  6. I think BGSM starting 5 would be like this;

    PG - LA

    SG - Mongolian Barbecue

    SF - Import

    PF - Marcelo

    C - Greg

    and the 2nd unit would be;

    PG - JJ

SG - MC47 (i suspect these 2 would get a lot of minutes off the bench taking from Lim's interviews)

SF - Ellis/Yeo/Mac45 (eto ang problema, walang legitimate SF player)

    PF - Japhet

C - Pena (walang ibang choice, bahala na si batman kung pano niya babantayan the likes of PJ Ramos, etc)

    Im afraid the chess players will increase;

    > Monfort, Fireball, Knutell (obviously) and kung sino man ang di trip ni coach kina Ellis, Yeo at Mac45

But I really hope na run and gun ala Alaska and ROS ang gawin niya para makagamit siya ng up to 13 players in rotation during a game (iwas sunog sa player)

  7.

    ha!!??? Finals na ba???

haha welcome back boss mukhang napasarap ang bakasyon ah.. hehe..

  8. It's too simple that of a story,

Her heart is where she want it to be.

3 to 4 years is passing,

    is there something missing?

    She thought it was destiny,

just like everyone who lived and see.

    But she really don't understand.

    is love really blind?

    She gave everything as much,

to think that would make them match.

So far you think its working?

Or is it yourself your really fooling?

"Everything will be worth it" - you said..

That your love for each other will never be dead.

Wait, is it tears that i am seeing?

When are you gonna do something, to stop it from falling?

She'll be glad to know its just normal.

And as I analyze, you only act natural.

That to love with pain is true and sincere,

Always hoping the end to misery will be near?!
  9. another proof of "nap gutierrez" style of reporting by snow badua..

ang hilig talaga mag pauso at mag papansin

MANILA – New Ginebra coach Frankie Lim is pushing the Gin Kings with short but intense practices as he wants to prepare them for high octane, run-and-gun style that they will use for the upcoming 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup.

“I find it exciting,” Lim said during ANC’s “Hardball” on Monday about the run-and-gun game. “Sabi ko, if we have the fans as your Sixth Man, I want them excited also.”

“I want to put a great game for them, so we can run. But we have to practice running,” he added. “We have to do it little by little.”

Thus, he has asked his players to push themselves hard in practice, especially veterans like Mark Caguioa and JayJay Helterbrand. Lim says both guards have been responding well.

“Mark is really pushing himself. I just spoke to him last Saturday, I told him, ‘You have to be in tip-top shape. We’re gonna run, and you’re gonna be tired’,” he said.

“‘So you and JayJay have to be in shape and stay away from injuries,'” Lim added. “LA (Tenorio) is another guy who plays well in practice.”

Lim is also happy about what he is seeing from big man Greg Slaughter so far.

“Slaughter’s game has changed,” he said. “Another big is (Rodney) Brondial. He was seldom used last conference, but he’s practicing very well.”

Lim, a multi-titled coach with San Beda, has set the championship as the goal for Ginebra in the Governors’ Cup, and acknowledges that it will be a tall task. But he is encouraged by what he is seeing from his players and hopes the fans will appreciate their work as well.

“I think they’re hopeful,” Lim said of the Gin Kings. “Every time you have a new coach, you see what’s going in practice. They respond very well. My practices are short, but high in intensity.”

“They get tired, and they know how hard practice is, so sabi ko, kailangan pa-kundisyon tayo. I want you guys to enjoy playing, and I want our fans to enjoy watching you guys,” he added. –

so we will still see a lot of mc47 and JJ in Frankie Lim's style huh? how about checking their defense? its not their offense that should be checked but their poor defense specially JJ

  10. Fast and Furious 7

    Rating: 4.5/5

    Highlights:

    > As seen on the trailers, the car aerial drops are one of the best stunts ever attempted on an action movie

    > Paul walkers daring bus stunt (in which reportedly made by him before his death) is the main action highlight

    > The ending in which everyone really wanted to see on how they will let go/retire of Paul's character

    > Street fight (fist to fist) battle between Statham and the Rock and Statham and Diesel

    > (SPOILER) Abu dhabi car jump scene is very unique

    Pros;

    > as always, fast and gorgeous cars with sexy grinding babes on the side is an eye candy

    > Walkers CGI genius is almost unnoticeable

    > The story is very true to its roots starting from the earliest to the last installment

    > Glass cutting humor even in a highly intense car stunt scenes (Roman is the man!)

    > action scenes of Justin Wan has its own intensity and style

    Cons;

    > Somewhat at a point in time, you think that almost all of its franchise story trend is the same

    > The story is somewhat surprisingly focused on a technological weapon and the "revenge" plot just became a side dish to a unexpected meal

    > Kurt Rusell's absence on the later part of the movie is confusing considering of how he was introduced and how his relationship to Dom was build up.

All in all, what matters is most how they parted with Walker's character and IMHO, they couldn't have done better. It is the best way to say goodbye to a very well loved character in this movie franchise.

  11. Their main reason is to span the popularity and increase audience reach.

The PBA thinks that having asian imports will attract asian viewers on live games and on internet/tv and increase more the leagues popularity as well as attracting foreign countries to invest (hopefully) on a team that will join in the PBA soon.

But I think having one lone player in a team would not help, my suggestion before on PBA websites and forum is like these:

1st conference - All Filipino (no changes)

2nd conference - With Imports (same rules, bottom 4 will have unlimited import height)

*3rd conference - With height limit on imports on all teams, invite european/asian commercial teams to participate and separate the Gilas Pool and allow to participate in the tournament as a separate team. Two bracketing group system, Same Group members will fought twice and fight the other team members once. Top 4 on each bracket will advance forming the playoffs top 8.

    - with this kind of setup, you will still attract foreign viewers and interest, plus your giving all PBA players (not just Gilas) a taste of international basketball play which will benefit greatly the young ones or the 2nd generation PBA superstars.

Ang main issue dito is yung gastos dahil who will shoulder the expenses of an entire team and yung quality ng teams and players from outside na sasali. But either way, IMHO, I think this is a better setup than having asian imports

  12.

hope this work for new coach Franky

dapat talaga chess player na lang si pena but the trade of Billy Mamaril hurts and now resulted to lack of legit backup to Greg. Yes, Marcelo played center in the NCAA but almost lahat ng kalaban niya dun kasinglaki niya lang halos, unlike sa PBA na may mas malalaki, skilled at malakas tulad nina Thoss, Fajardo, Taulava, etc. at yung mga no height limit import na andyan pa rin so i think putting Marcelo at the C spot is dangerous. Sino sesentro? yung Import???

  13. "A Ginebra insider believes that with Graham at small forward, the team can have a balanced starting unit that will have Asian import Sanchar Tungalag at the off guard spot, LA Tenorio at the point, Japeth Aguilar in the power forward post and Greg Slaughter at the center position."

    http://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/news/zach-graham-ginebra-import-pba-frankie-lim-othyus-jeffers-governors-cup

    - looks good on paper (again)

    - Puro scorer na naman, wala pa din defender but at least its an upgrade in the 3 position that we all have been talking about here for a while.

    2nd unit:

    > JJ (asahan na to)/Monfort

    > MC47 (lalo na to)/Yeo

    > Ellis/Mac45

    > Marcelo/Brondial

    > Pena???/Marcelo

    Chess Players:

    > Urbiztondo

    > Knuttel

  14. Zach mason ba yun?

I think pasok sya sa 6'5".

  15.

    i agree!

yung import ng BGSM last year na 1st time maglaro as pro straight from college OK din naman maglaro yun db? Im worried kay freeman kasi out of shape at walang active na ligang nilalaruan ngayon and the age factor is there. nalimutan ko na ang name nun import natin last year, malakas din sa rebound yun saka may low post moves na injured lang siya nung QF series nila vs ROS if I remember right.

Almazan - Rock n Roll - tuwing nakikta ko to sa TV talagang sumsabog ang pagtawa ko sa mamang to.. He was Raped!

Guevara - Papa Rey ang p#ta - Mico and Magoo nanaman to palagay ko.

Weakest and corniest for me is Vince "The Prince" Hizon (Papoging monicker kasi di related sa basketball)

  18. I checked on twitter and Frankie Lim says JJ, Mac45 and Brondial is not available for trade.

Which means LA and Yeo is still up??? may kinalaman kaya dito yung 2 diva?

Or, mental/psycho challenge niya to dun kina LA at Yeo??

Saw some pictures on the BGSM twitter page and it shows there that they are doing a lot of stretching and running even after practice.
