But IMHO, I think Frankie is different. Malambot kasi si Cariaso and medyo "younger".. But we will see kung anong klaseng tapang meron si Lim. Yung tipong kada game may technical sya sa mga referee, well that should say something.

Now that the coach is named, time to look for the right import.

  2. We all see it coming, frankie lim's appointment as head coach dahil nga si RSA ang kumuha sa kanya. So RSA took charge and make frankie the head coach.

And here is our preview about frankie's style of coaching - SANA AY MATUPAD ITO:

Another former Lim protégé and Barako Bull rookie big man Jake Pascual believes Lim is exactly what the doctor ordered for Ginebra.

“Nasa player din kasi kung susundin siya. Kung may suporta sa kanya ang management ng Ginebra, mas madali niya ma-i-implement ang gusto niya,” said Pascual, who won championships with Lim at San Beda.

“Matagal nang championship caliber ang Ginebra. Sa umpisa maninibago players, mangangapa si coach, pero in time, kaya niyang dalhin sa championship ang team” he added.

May 5 pala start ng next conference, any idea on the imports reinforcing each team?

Aside from Marqus Blakely suiting up for the Hotshots.

May team ba na kukuha ng Asian import with a 6'3" height?

yes more than a month pa nga ang 3rd conference so wala pang masyadong news about the imports and asian reinforcements. Yung asian player is not mandatory kundi optional lang and i think hindi na kelngan ng BGSM to, kakain lang ng spot sa rotation and mas mahirap mag jel kapag asian player dahil most of them hirap sa english so IMHO, the kings dont need it.

For the imports, eto pa lang ang 90% sure

Kia - PJ Ramos again (yes they are still allowed unlimited height, the bottom 4 actually) + a korean shooter with help of their mother company in Korea

SMB - AZ Reid (this is AZ original tour of duty)

Purefoods - Blakely (w/ him, team to beat pa din ang purefoods)

    Rumors:

    Barako - Alabi again

How about SMB's previous import na si rogers? he can be a good fit to BGSM, athletic, shooter and malakas dumepensa at rebounds.

  4. Finally, Greg speaks his mind.. Will the veteran diva's respond positively or negatively?

“I feel terrible. I’m sick coming out and ending up in the quarterfinals. We’re a better team. As a team, I think we can get better. I think this team, in every position – from our bench players, to our coaches, to the management. They believe we could have done better than the quarterfinals,” he added.

“Four conferences, getting ousted in the quarterfinals, something is not right.”

San Miguel should force retire JayJay and Mark. End of the road na yung dalawa. No leadership qualities na at ang dalas pang magpakalat ng paninira through social media. Let L.A. hold the baton sa orchestra. Mas effective sa tingin ko yun. Nawawalan na ng gana si L.A. sa sobrang daldal nuong dalawa na akala mo nasa prime years pa nila. And the coach?

But since its RSA's order to get Frankie Lim, we may soon see Frankie take over IF not during Govs cup to give one more chance to Ato. And yet kung kangkungan pa din sa 3rd conference - it will be frankie lim that will take over.

I hope the Pena trade will be the last. No need for more trade I think, Just retire JJ and Mark and the team will still be formidable with the remaining players intact. Make Greg and Japeth the foundation of the team.

Greg, LA, Japeth, Yeo, Ellis, Monfort, Brondial, Ababou, Baracael, Mamaril, Urbiztondo, Forrester - these 12 players are still a lot better than other teams 10 man rotation.

  6. Japeth and Greg are the two stand outs during that game. And to think, sila pa ang madalas paringgan at i criticize ni MC47 na soft at papogi samantalang they are doing their best without asking for anything and complaining.

NUNG HULI TAYONG NAKAPASOK SA FINALS, INJURED SI MC47 AND LA IS RUNNING THE SHOW. I DONT WANT TO GIVE UP ON LA, HE IS THE FUTURE, HINDI LANG TALAGA MAKA DISKARTE DAHIL DUN SA 2 DIVA..

I like the Elijah Millsap idea but i prefer more of a SF ala Blakely/Reid who plays No. 3 and is very effective in setting up their big men.

  8. I echoed your sentiments regarding forrester not having the exposure he deserves but tonight's game should not be included. This game is a twice to beat crucial do or die game and you want all your guns, blades and knives ready and sharp as possible. You go to the time and battle tested guys.

This is not the time for forrester to be use and see what potential and promise he has. May mga susunod na conference pa na pwede syang magamit (sana) pero hindi ngayong game na to ang time para dun.

The guy na "definitely" dapat maglaro tonight is Billy Mamaril to play tough and physical defense mapa extra rice man yan or import.

I hope they can control the boards well para ma counter ang run and gun style ng ROS at mas mapagana ang "celebrated" run and gun ni Ato.

  9. I really hope they would get an import that is suited for the SF or No. 3 position in the Gov's cup cause that is their weakness..

Baracael, Ellis and Ababou are scorer's not legit and lockdown defenders.

While Brondial is a chess player.

Nung nawala si Wilson at Si Hatfield, wala ng lockdown defender and BGSM. I hope they could get a Blakely/AZ Reid type of player, one who can score and defend,

  10.

Jayjay, wake up to the truth. Its all over. Retire na to give way to younger generation of Ginebrans.

and marck caguioa too.. i dont buy the excuse na wala silang gana o wala sa wisyo maglaro that time. Its pretty obvious. their time has come and need to accept that for the benefit of the entire team.

  11. If (wishful thinking) BGSM can go all the way to the SEMIS, Greg has a good chance to finally get his 1st BPC award

"JUNE Mar Fajardo remains as the statistical points leader in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, but with San Miguel Beer failing to make the playoffs his bid for a third Best Player of title has become slim. Unofficial tabulation of the Best Player derby for the mid-season conference shows the 6-foot-10 Fajardo leading the pack with his 333 total statistical points or a 33.9 average. Barangay Ginebra’s youthful slotman Greg Slaughter is second with 276 total SPs for a 32.6 average, followed by Talk ‘N Text’s combo guard Jayson Castro (274 SPs, 32.2 average)."

  12. Good luck sa game versus Alaska.

Dunnigan + Greg is the best advantage

  13. Heck, had they won over nlex and ros 'di na sana ganyan, agustin make a lot of blunders in those 2 games....

BGSM would have been up against Meralco and not PF.

  14. How bout RoS nlang? last time they played kayang kaya ng ginkings sina paul lee belga and co....mas delikado pag purefoods....especially kay denzel bowles and yun mga guards nila sina barroca melton mallari maliksi simon and yap....plus si coach tim cone pa...

  15.

a twice to beat is always a disadvantage.. now that ROS and Tnt holds the top two, i think its wise to avoid meeting them specially after seeing last night how TnT torched ALASKA - i doubt if BGSM can beat them.

Best of 3 with purefoods is a better option than a must 2 win against Tnt or ROS

  16.

Lumaki kasi apat na penalties combined. ROS? In the first place why hire a congressman? sa dami ng ginawang bad example sa kaugalian which is bad for the youth (ginagaya tuloy) ni guiao,ROS should have fired him long time ago pa. I cannot recall when Jawo as a coach naninipa or namamatid ng players.

Hindi magandang example at pangit na image for a respected politician. Sunud sunuran din kasi ang ROS management ke Yeng, utang na loob nila ang pagpapalakas ng team ke yeng despite a very small budget and with unheard players rising to star status. Dapat sa kanila mag umpisa ang pag tame ng players at coaches nila compare to SMC teams and Alaska which has more control of their team on and off the court.

  17. so do you guys think 70K fine is OK?

I mean, he should be fine pero, di ba parang sobrang laki naman ata?

But buti na lang nangyari to para madala siya. warning na din to sa buong ROS camp.

I like that Ricardo Brown Statement, i would love to hear what ROS management specially Guiao would say after hearing this.

  18. IMHO, last nights lost was due to ineffective plays of the guards. LA, Yeo, Baracel, Monfort and even MC47, kinain lang sila nina Ybanez at Paul Lee. No lead is safe now in the PBA specially vs ROS so expected ko ng makakahabol lalo pa at coaching wise, Guiao clearly has the upperhand in terms of adjustments..

Like everyone's comments, bakit nga ba si baracael pa rin ung pinasok nung huli eh wala nmn siya ginagawa buong laro?

Mahirap lang kagabi, using greg exposed the twin towers weakness, ambagal nila sa depensa. Japhet was playing well also offensively and defensively so hindi alam ni ato kung sino ang ibababad.

    1. Tungkol sa pagpili kay JJ instead of Yeo;

Agustin stressed he didn’t field Yeo during that crucial stretch of the game since he stuck with a two-point guard set-up in Tenorio and Helterbrand. “Wala namang dahilan,” Agustin said. Helterbrand, playing his first game in over a month after being sidelined with an injury, did have five assists, but scored just three points on 1-of-5 shooting and added a steal in 25 minutes of play.

    2. About Baracael's defense and overused of players;

Agustin decided to keep the quintet of LA Tenorio, Jayjay Helterbrand, Greg Slaughter, Mac Baracael, and import Michael Dunigan for the most part of the payoff period when the Kings squandered a big lead and led to their downfall against the Road Warriors, 96-90. “Wala na eh, nandun na sila eh. Naka-on the go na.

Agustin also made the decision to Baracael defend the red-hot Thornton one-on-one in the crucial stretch before giving way to Chris Ellis when it was too late. The Ginebra coach instead blamed the team’s collapse not on its lineup, but on three crucial turnovers that NLEX turned into a 14-1 salvo and flipped the game around. “We committed three crucial turnovers that NLEX all converted,” Agustin said. “We need to learn para ma-protektahan ang lead namin.”

    - HINDI MAWAWALA ANG LEAD KUNG TINUTUKAN MO ANG ONSLAUGHT NI THORNTON! KUNG 10 ANG LAMANG PA DIN BEFORE THE 3 TURNOVERS, 6 POINTS LANG SANA UN LAMANG PA DIN NG 4 PTS!!! KAYA NGA NAG TURNOVER NA SILA KASI PAGOD NA - SUNOG NA!!! BOBO KA TALAGA!!!

  20.

Kings coach Ato Agustin admitted their faults in the way they defended Thornton, who played small forward and made tough turnaround jumpers look easy. “Anong magagawa namin ‘dun?” Agustin said. “It was a one-man show. Talagang hindi namin napigilan ‘yun.”

  22. im a late tuner last night sa game and nagtaka ako tulad niyo bakit si Baracael (at Ellis) and bumabantay ke Thornton.
