  1. Not too long ago, this article came out.

Under Duterte, Philippines Enjoying An Investment Boom, But Don't Thank China

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/richardheydarian/2018/03/25/under-duterte-philippines-enjoying-an-investment-boom-but-dont-thank-china/#2cade4b0393e

As far as the economy is concerned, it’s business as usual in the Philippines. This is a significant factor, precisely because since President Rodrigo Duterte’s ascent to power in mid-2016, there have been growing worries about the country’s international isolation and, by extension, economic outlook.

Thanks to the president’s incendiary rhetoric against traditional allies as well as deepening concerns over widespread extrajudicial killings under Duterte’s war on drugs campaign, many observers feared that intemperate leadership and shaky politics would (once again) undermine the country’s newfound economic momentum.

Yet, facts on the ground suggest a more sanguine outlook for the Philippine economy. More interestingly, however, the bulk of investments under Duterte have come from traditional allies, namely the United States, Japan and Europe. Mainland China is yet to make a major dent on the country’s overall investment landscape.

    LA with 5 steals.. wow...

Next game vs. stanley 50pts pringle

  3.

BOI approvals up. PEZA pledges down. I dont quite know what to make of this. Is this good news or bad news?

    BOTH actually.

BOI approvals up means outside investors are up - new upcoming businesses/jobs

PEZA pledges down - PEZA company activities and plans are winding down. based on the article, dahil daw sa TRAIN law but confusing din dahil why invest if may fear of TRAIN law.

my take is that companies inside PEZA zones have been relocating their factories on neighboring asian countries now like vietnam, malaysia and indonesia where Labor is much cheaper compared to Phils. This has been happening the past 4 years and the trend continues. This problem is also happening to China.

  4. Ironic since you're actually suppressing criticism right now.

suppressing? did someone here prevents you from stating your opinion and preventing you from posting?

    :P

    ON TOPIC:

BOI approvals rise 28%, PEZA down in 4 months

    Read more at https://www.philstar.com/business/2018/06/22/1826689/boi-approvals-rise-28-peza-down-4-months#qgip3h9Sjf7gHUBv.99

MANILA, Philippines — New projects registered with the Board of Investments (BOI) grew by over a quarter in the first four months, while investment pledges approved by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) contracted by more than half on lingering concerns over the government’s second tax reform package.

Data provided by the BOI showed that its approved investment pledges from January to April this year surged 27.8 percent to P195.72 billion from P153.11 billion in the same period last year.

PEZA investment approvals, meanwhile, plunged by 58.6 percent to P39.09 billion from P94.39 billion in the same period last year.

  5.

baka naman hinihingi ni compton sina sol, scottie at japeth hahahahaha tama ka diyan chief. nung unang nag-champion ang ginebra (with jbl as their import), si sol ang isa sa mga bumabantay kay durham nung wala si greg, if i remember correctly. i think sol should be one of the untouchables at ginebra.

Caught Norman Black off guard with that move by CTC

On some beastly news, 2-3 players DAW ang gustong kunin ng Aces from us. First off their list is Sol. The other two, unknown parts pa.

We've already proven na kaya nating magchampion with Sol healthy in the lineup.

Nasa minimum ba sya kaya nag papadagdag?

  6. How can you use social media to monitor implementation anomalies when any criticisms towards the government is suppressed?

you actually cannot think of social media as a tool? seriously? Let me educate you.

simple lang di ba, picturan/i video status ng project/construction, i post sa social media, i viral.

(think anti duterte FB pages and Blogs)

  7. nice showing by the entire team. JBL need not to dominate.

Scottie is a gem.. nuff said

  8. Hurray for build, build, build. We need more infrastructure in the country. The only thing I worry about is the cost. Kasama jan yung interest sa loans and yung amount na makukurakot. Can you really trust this government with all that money being allocated?

We know very well the people running the show:

Duterte - "I will not sign the waiver" and his Davao group leader son

Marcos - number 2 most corrupt in the world

Arroyo - ZTE, PCSO funds, fertilizer scam, 2nd hand choppers, etc...

Erap - number 10 most corrupt in the world

"Power tends to corrupt, and Absolute power corrupts absolutely" - Lord Acton

i am also keeping a sharp eye to the spending operations of the BBB program.

The intention and political will is there, the problem now is the implementation and accountability.

Thats why we need social media to be vigilant to report the status, irregularities, conditions and effects of these projects.

Remember the "collapsed foot bridge" last month na nahulog yung mga politicians? wag naman sanang matulad tong mga to duon.

  9. malabo yata yung chan for abueva scenario chief dld. ginebra needs a shooter and they got that in the person of chan. sabi ko nga earlier, masyado naman ambisyoso itong si compton. hinahanap si lebron o kaya si durant...binabangungot pa yata ito nyahahaha i guess we already have an upgrade in chan and sargent. let's see what happens.

well the drawback will be an even lesser playing time for MC47 now that Chan is here.

We may hear more MC47 clamor for playing time.

I think this will also send a message to MC47 to "hang em up"

  10. Junix is correct Sargent plays 2 and 3. Much like Sol when playing alongside scottie and LA. 3 guards and twin towers combi.

Try na muna natin tong lineup na to with Chan and Sargent.

BTW, this airport project was initiated last admin pa. I'm asking for those projects initiated by the Duterte admin and will be completed within the Duterte admin.

IN THE KNOW: Other massive projects in the Visayas

Aside from the bridges, massive projects worth at least P123.68 billion are being undertaken by the Duterte administration for the Visayas.

Some were started or identified by the previous administration.

These are the P7.9-billion Leyte Tide Embankment Project, which covers 27.3 kilometers from the shore of Barangay Diit in Tacloban City to Tanauan town, both in Leyte province

Andyan sila Aguilar at Caperal. What do you think guys..mas bibikis laro ng Gin Kings.

we dont have a legitimate center, only greg.

Japhet is a PF, who plays SF and is very effective on that.

Prince and Raymond plays center, but are undersized (think junmar fajardo)

Sargeant is only 6'1" so he is not a big addition. More of a Sol Mercado but plays like willy wilson on defense.

  13. if this kid will get playing minutes to show his real potential, ok itong trade na ito. this guy used to form a formidable frontline with perkins and torres with lasalle. sana lang talaga wag mabangko.

this kid is a willy wilson guy in the making.. Bagay pa sa run and gun.. The future is looking better

  14. Another one

I like this trade, wag lang sana mabangko tong bata, bruiser to eh

Ginebra makes another move, trades Paolo Taha to GlobalPort for Julian Sargent

    GINEBRA isn’t done moving pieces.

Just a day after acquiring Jeff Chan from Phoenix, the Gin Kings have traded seldom-used guard Paolo Taha to GlobalPort in exchange for tireless forward Julian Sargent.

The Office of the Commissioner approved the trade on Tuesday.

  15. Japeth makes Greg Better, while Greg let Japeth plays his game. They complement each other well.

I voted for Binay and nagsisi ng sobra after the makati city hall building scandal.

I voted for De Lima as a senator and nagsisi after knowing her drug ties.

  18. Update just in:

Aljon + pick for Jeff Chan.

onga noh, kaya nila tinanggihan yung cruz at mariano, pano pa kaya yung Ellis Jr.

1st offer: Aljon Mariano for Chan.

    Phoenix declined.

2nd offer: Jervy Cruz for Chan.

    Phoenix declined.

Phoenix offer: Sol Mercado for Chan.

    Ginebra declined.

Ano sa palagay nyo mga chief??

Aljon Mariano + Kevin Ferrer = Chan

Im surprised chief untouchable si Ellis Jr.

  21.

Now you're using Inquirer for your sources after saying it's untrustworthy, 'no?

So ayan na may BBB na. Ano dinudulot nito ngayon? Lumalalalang traffic.

do you actually expect na walang magiging setback ang build build build program sa current traffic situation? konting tiis for future ginhawa madam?

    Di lang naman traffic ang naidudulot;
