  1. ran earlier today. i tried the masinag-antipolo route (actually ran from our house to masinag as warm up. a good 1-2km. then masinag going up to antipolo)

    medyo napaaga ata takbo ko. started before 5am when i left our house. medyo madilim pa yung route going to antipolo. only able to reach upto meralco compound, rested a couple of minutes then ran/walk going back to our house

    time: around 1hr 30mins

    bumped into a number of joggers on my way back. it's such a nice feeling seeing fellow joggers nod their head and smile at you when you meet each other on the road. you don't know each other but share the same passion ^_^ (same feeling pag may nakakasalubong kang GM sa spas haha)

  2. Since I wasnt able to register for the Kick the Habit 2 run, i guess i'll try the antipolo-sumulong route tomorrow :)

  3. @philipcaesar -- my 2 main motivations: 1)health reasons and 2)my thera was into running as well ^_^ when i started running, masaya naman pala. parang naging bonding time with classmates/officemates. then you set personal goals and challenges. sarap ng feeling! and it gives you reason to go to spa afterwards (pero nasi-skip naman massage part haha)

  4. accdg to Runrio, there would be around 3k+ runners running for the 21K category sa RU1. wow. that's a lot of runners!!! im still targeting running 21K this year pero mukhang di pa talaga kaya T_T. 16K try ko sa Yakult. hopefully nde ako pulikatin hehe

  5. Jogged from Masinag to the way going to Antipolo (Palos Verde ata near Pork Barrel and a lil ahead to Cloud 9 resort) with the time of 1:01:35 and estimate distance of 8 or 9K. Solb since maganda na din pala road (thanks to the widening) at madami bikers which meant that you could run beside them and assure yourself that you won't be side swept by the cars and vehicles going up. Bihira pa lang tumatakbo from this route at lalong rare ang chicks so you'd probably take this route for the challenge and the scenery and not for the added view/inspiration tongue.gif

    wow. nice time considering na uphill yun route mo bro. matry nga din to minsan ^_^

    i ran last sunday from our house going to sta lucia mall (via marcos hway) then pabalik. took me 1hr 30mins (estimated distance 9-10k). ok sana kaso dami madilim na spots along marcos hiway

    i was planning of running earlier today, kaso maulan (check nalang ng FRs hehe)

    Condura Skyway Marathon 16km run

    I did it at 1hr 36min and 10 secs!

    Whew! Great Solid run for me....

     

    Ppdd... dapat mag run ako jan sa no speed limit...

    but I ran at the Philippine Water Run.. at Marikina 5km... small run but nice too!public/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif

    wow solid nga yun bro. nice time :) congrats

    small runs are actually nice. parang dun ko na nga gusto sumali kesa sa mga big events ng rio

    may paparating na event, yung Kick the Habit 2. venue jan lang sa ULTRA, Pasig.. i might join there

     

    Is there a specific org of runners in Metro Manila?

    hmmm... actually parang wala naman solid na 1 main body

    pero madami small groups, usually group of friends, or friends of friends or officemates na may passion for running

    one of which is PinoyFitness na dumadami na members

    ang alam ko MTC is trying to create a running group as well.. not sure what happened though

    nung timex run i saw people from PEx (pinoy exchange) running group kasi may banner pa sila. I'm a member of that site pero nde naman ako active dun (blocked kasi sa office)

    FR on No Speed Limit -- benefit run for Batino Elementary School

    10KM : 1hr 24mins+ (my best run sana pero hirap talaga pag uphill.. :( )

    route: ateneo to libis and back (including the katipunan flyover and tunnel)

     

    what i like about events not organized by runrio is that nde sya ganun ka-crowded

     

    cons:

    -- i guess the hydration stations are not placed properly

    -- another thing sa hydration stations, water lang meron.. then naubusan pa ng disposable plastic cups and water supply mismo..

    -- the marshalls are ok, pero sana mas madami sila (you'll know kung bakit later on sa pros ^_^). dami stretch na ambibilis ng sasakyan and no visible marshalls in sight

     

    pros:

    -- dami cute girl marshalls (nakakawala ng pagod yung smile nila)

    -- dami cute girl runners (dami pde habulin)

    -- dami cute girls sa mga booths

    -- very challenging route (mixed uphill and downhill.. kung wala lang sana mga sasakyan mas ok)

    -- Gretchen Ho .. 'nuff said :)

     

    next target:

    Run for the Orphans -- Feb12 @ Camp Aguinaldo... pahinga muna next week :)

  9. Timex Run FR

    "I ran with Piolo at 10KM"

     

    ambilis ni fafa P. nde ko sya nahabol ampf. I was able to register my personal best (unofficial time: 1hr 12mins+). not bad for my 1st run in 2012

    reklamo ko lang is andilim dun sa Starting area.. pero the rest are ok. maayos din sa baggage claiming area. yung finisher's kit mga excess sa unilab run ahaha

    congrats RunRio and to all participants/finishers

     

    next target: No Speed Limit run on Jan29 (10k uli)

  10. I did the 10K in the PSE Bull Run 2012 held yesterday early morning @ BGC: 58 mins. , 49 secs.

     

    Looking forward to this year's Condura Skyway Marathon (my first foray on 16K- been training 10Ks since last year) on Feb. 05

Feedback on Rescue Run (for the victims of Sendong): masaya yung run kanina. magkahalo uphill and downhill. mas konti yung sumali pero parang ang sikip ng kalye. kasabay mo pa yung ibang cars sa gilid ng daan. ang maganda (nakakatuwa) kanina is, wala sya official na singlet. so halo halo yung mga suot kanina nung runners (i wore my AXN run singlet), yung iba naka costume pa. despite yung unang nakapost, there were water/hydration stations along the way (water and pocari sweat). dami din nag volunteer for the event. wala lang gaano portalet, so they advised the runners to use the 2 CRs available (buti onti lang kasali). so kahit na 9days lang ang prep to organize the event, i'd say ok pa din. it's a benefit run after all. happy new year to all runners :)

  12. HSBC Fun Run 10K

    unofficial time: 1hr 15mins+ (currently my personal best. yehey)

    started a bit sluggish. 2km palang parang tutukod na ako. maybe its the lack of practice. buti nalang yung route meron talahiban. jingle muna sa gilid haha. after nun, parang light na yung feeling ko. no cramps this time. pansin ko tuwing solo ako tumakbo, dun maganda yung nagiging time ko eh (axn, hsbc). very busy na sa Dec. this might be my last run for 2011... unless nalang kung sipagin sa milo or qcim :)

    ngayon tapos na ang takbo... espa marathon naman next week. woot woot

RU3 15k run -- wala ata ako sa wisyo tumakbo that day. ang bilis ko napagod. then at the 12km mark, parang all-in na ako. had to walk the last 3kms with cramps (again). haha. finished with an unofficial time of 2hrs 20+mins.. bonus ko lang is magaganda yung 10k runners na nakasabay ko that time. bawi nalang ako sa HSBC run (10k)

  14. 1am na dito sa office.. start stretching and warm up na for the 15k run (ayos! then attend binyag, tapos pacman fight afterwards.. sana nde ako antukin manuod sa laban dahil sa puyat/pagod) good luck to all runners :)

  15. @spy_der_man -- yes bro, cooldown/stretching AFTER the run is as important as warmup/stretching before the actual race, as it will help in the recovery process and prevent injuries. kala ko din dati basta takbo lang eh, nde pala. bro Turk made some good advices on his post. aside from stretching, make sure to eat/drink din after nung race. yung ESpa gnagawa ko yun probably 1week before ng run (pang alis lang ng stress) then 1-2 days after ng run. ang kaso, naii-skip ko yung massage part so wala din nyahaha

    @spy_der_man -- what happened bro? over fatigue? kulang sa hydration/cooldown? dapat ata nag ESpa ka after, baka may "init" na nde mailabas kaya ganun :) (joke). baka medyo nabigla lang yung body mo since sabi mo nga, it was your 1st 21k.

    My time is 2hrs and 40mins

     

    The day before I went to fairytalezz spa... Love it!

    After the race I went to Kuusamo Spa Makati ... Great!

    still deciding kung tatakbo ba ako sa greenhills eco run (mura lang kasi)

     

    Note: For those who ran sa Nike We Run Manila, check your results again sa FB. Nike added a video about the event and sa finale, andun ung name and ranking mo sa run. you could share it sa fb wall mo if you like

    hoping to finish the run since wala akong practice at wala akong experince sa ganito..
