The problem with August is that there are normally typhoons, and if you are unlucky, said typhoons can hit the Northern Luzon area and cause landslides on the highway.

As for elvaracco's hope that "love of country" and "love of sport" being these fil-europeans' motivations, well quite frankly i doubt it. Obviously they know that while they are not stars in europe, here in phils. they can be superstars/celebrities by virture of looks, etc. And probably they are well-compensated for their time and effort by the team's sponsors.

I think we should just focus on individual sports such as mga martial arts disciplines, billiards, boxing, etc. After all, since our country has little money, we will spend much less if one person wins an Olympic medal, vs. one team winning a medal.
