  2. Thanks, ill keep that in mind

the good thing about using LINUX OS

you don't need to install Nokia PC Suite

as soon as you plug your USB cable connected to the Phone

the OS will immediately recognize the 3G connection

    and you can browse immediately

  3. hmmm this ive got to see :D WinXP in the Asus

I just had my asus eee converted to winxp (nanghiram ako ng external dvd drive). syempre tinangal ko ang mga games, calculator, outlook express, and followed the recommendations on the asus eee manual to optimize winxp. I also opted for an office 2000 installation; only MS word, excel and powerpoint. I also installed YM and gtalk client.

    It runs on Linux OS

What is the OS/version of this cutie?

The trick here is youve got to install Nokia PC Suite in the Asus , which i think is not compatible with the Linux OS

But if you have installed WinXP as OS..its a synch and should work seamlessly

Once you have the PC Suite & Nokia cable drivers installed and running, connect your N6288 using the USB cable, fire the modem option/via 3G (3.5 G/HSDPA if you have such a handset).. and you'll be able to connect to the net

I've been wanting to inquire about this. I don't want to subscribe to smartbro since i have wifi access but there are lulls in airports that i would like to maximize the time by answering emails of clients. I have a nokia 6288 which is 3G i guess - can this work with smart buddy then i connect it with my asus?
  4. Im still evaluating this notebook since im a heavy user of Nokia PC Suite for my Symbians and Moto software for modding & flashing/backup...

Im still checking if the software does support Linux

hehe.. I'm currently here at starbucks at araneta gateway. i've just got an asus eee laptop. what can I say?!? pagkabili ko ay iniwan ko na sa car yung box, bought the charger and put the laptop inside my travelling bag (shoulder bag). pagupo ko dito and connected the wifi.. boom! surf agad. may group of students behind me that keep on looking my way, i can even hear them talking about how small, slick, and sexy this unit is.

bwahahaha.. there's a guy with an HP laptop at the couch who can't stop looking at me too. ang liit talaga ng asus laptop! the touchpad is also surprisingly easy to use (as compared to my neo laptop). medyo naninibago nga lang ako sa keyboard (medyo maliit and I've got fat fingers but I am starting to get the hang of it as I am typing this. nakakapanibago lang ang position ng right shift key because nasasapawan siya ng arrow keys).

this is a good traveling laptop, good for browsing, chatting, and checking of email.

and did I say how cute, sleek, and sexy it is? hehe. I'm going to go up later and have it gmasked.

  5. Terry was sidelined for almost 4 years after his freak knee accident in 87, and was placed in the injured list indefinitely

during this season, Zaldy Latoza & Dennis Carbonilla alternated on that sole roster spot vacated by Saldana

    1988 All Filipino Champions

    Chito Loyzaga - Captain

    Ernesto Loyzaga

    Romulo Mamaril

    Eduardo Ducut

    Dante Gonzalgo

    Mukesh Advani

    Crescencio Ampalayo

    Leonardo Isaac

    Edgardo Buhay

    Rodolfo Distrito

    Antero Saldana

    Roberto Jaworski - Coach

feel free to correct the lineup

  6. For those who are bothered by the crappyness, freezing & slow response of some N-Series phones (N70, N91 or N72 or even N73)

you may try to look at the new Nokia 6120 classic.....small form factor, Micro SD, 2 MP Camera, Radio, USB port, light weight, runs on the same Series 60 Symbian 9.3 OS, fast response, has 3G and HSDPA or 3.5 G...IMHO this trumps all the handset models i mentioned (except N73's 3.2 MP Carl Zeiss Optics Camera with Autofocus)...

and best of all..its CHEAP! :D less than 12K

  7. Customized goods/shirts/stuff/Souvenirs - Stanley Market

Electronics, gadgets, cellular phones, etc - Mongkok or Tsa Shim Tsui even Sham Shui Po

    Imitation/Tiangges - Temple Street along Nathan Road/Jordan

Branded clothes/shoes/bags/apparel - Mongkok, Causeway (Times Square & nearby areas)

Keep your ears open for Filipina vendors...they will give you a great deal, on top of that..an extra/additional item/article on your purchase (discreet of course) shhhhh :D

  8. Effects? i still go with classic Boss effects...Chorus, Distortion, Overdrive :D and a Fuzzface . I did use a generic Wah Pedal  (walang brand eh)

Sama mo na Korg for heavy sets (programmed)

ano favorite guitar effects nyo? digital or analog version? or do you go for direct amp distortion?

para sa akin wala nang mas simple pa sa direct amp distortion. i prefer analog effects kung kelangan talaga. parang may kulang kasi pag digitally processed. (or should i say, masyado malinis..) well i hope you guys know what i mean.

boss pedals are still the best IMO. parusa lang pag gig. :D

  9. I dont play much anymore, the combo of piezo & humbuckers are the Parker's selling point. You dont have to lug a separate acoustic guitar for "unplugged sound" sets/gigs. If the Parker's humbuckers can imitate the sound of a Gibson SG...that would be nice... hehehe...so il probably keep the Tele

Anyway...sounds can be manipulated via a music box (Pandora, Korg or a nifty guitar synth) or certain effects :D

It all depends on the kind of music you play. Parker Fly guitars are what you call a "hybrid". you can get acoustic sounds (via peizo pick-ups) and electric sounds (via humbuckers). Im not sure if you can mix both... people i know who used parker fly are savage garden and barbie of barbie's cradle. You may want to check their tone when the used the guitar for reference. Orgy also used parker fly but they combined it with a guitar synthesizer. Hope this helps.

BTW, I use a Thin-line Telecaster with Les Paul style pickups/controls/toggles through a Zoom GFX-5 and a Vox amplifier.

  10. James, Its a good buy (im referring to the MyPhone brand) IMHO, since its priced reasonably for a "china made" phone that carries a One year service warranty (Solid Group), great features (Dual SIM simultaneousluy, touch screen, MP4, load stereo speakers, Bluetooth, GPRS, etc) Even some Nokia handsets in circulation are "China" made. Though it would take time till the local market gets a "feel" of such device

No offense to the sellers of dual sim china phones with 1 month warranty

Disclaimer: Incomparable to the "tested" features of established brands like Nokia, SE or Samsung. It takes time before you get accustomed in sending SMS to Sim 1 or 2 :D

knowing you personally, just want your last word regarding these china dual-sim phones ... are they a "good buy" or a "goodbye" ... :D ;)
