ImRJ
di ba may kasama naman ang windows na internet explorerbakit gumagamit pa kayo ng iba e built-in naman 'to at libre din meron ba kayong requirements na di nagagawa netoano mas ikinaganda nyang firefox, opera, at avant sa internet explorerpara maintindihan ko naman...ganyan din yung iniisip ko dati pre... bakit pa ko gagamit ng iba e may IE naman. talked to a friend who used firefox tapos sinabi niya sa aking yung pros about using firefox. medyo naging curious ako so i tried it, and i haven't gone back ever since. minsan na lang talaga.  dati kasi wala bang tabbed browsing sa IE, firefox had it back then. tapos meron pang mga extensions and add-ons na pwede mo -download depende kung ano kailangan mong gawin. may extensions para mas lalong bumilis yung pag-open ng webpage, may extension para maka-download ka ng videos sa youtube, etc. etc. why not try it dude? para makita mo difference. kung di mo magustuhan madali naman mag-uninstall eh. Quote Link to comment
businessgeeks
For those who would like to know, Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser. While it is true that Internet Explorer is free like Firefox, it is how Internet Explorer was built that makes it a possible security issue.  For example, in a lot of cases Internet Explorers allows easy installation of activeX controls regardless of the source. This makes IE more open to malware code and since Internet Explorer is well integrated into the operating system (Microsoft Windows) if you're browser gets hacked, there is a high probability that your operating system will be hacked too. On the other hand, Mozilla firefox does not use these ActiveX controls and is not integrated into windows so that reduces the risk especially if you are fond of browsing porn sites . I am not saying the Mozilla Firefox is not hacker proof, but from experience, the developers of Mozilla firefox are more attentive to these security issues as they respond more to security bulletins and Microsoft has a record of neglecting Internet explorer when it comes to security updates. My 2 cents... if anyone can offer a bit more information or if they think i got some details wrong, feel free to let me know Thanks! tito_john
Di ko alam kung mas-secure ang Firefox dahil sa software mismo, but at least the hackers aren't concentrating on it as much as IE. Firefox has a lot -- A LOT -- of add-ons, and many of them are excellent. Weather tray, download all pics from a site, block ads, atbp. Firefox doesn't use Active-X controls at all. Much safer that way. Opera is also very nice, but not compatible with a lot of web sites. The best thing about it is the "mouse gestures." Right-click and move the mouse to the left, it goes to the previous page, for example. It's not free, though. I think Firefox is the best right now. pizzatraffic
The main advantage (difference) of Firefox over IE is, it's open source.which basically means we (consumers) and programming professionals around the world can read through and criticize the software for security issues before it is even released or after it was released.. this in turn helps the distributor to patch up quickly their software (Firefox) therefore minimizing the incidence of malware and privacy issues in our pc.. in contrast, we are forced to believe Microsoft that their browser (IE) is safe, fast and stable bla, bla, bla because they said so in their ads.. but we don't know for sure because it's not an open source software, we have no idea what's happening behind the scenes when the program is running.. hackers (or malware writers) in turn exploits this scenario because they know that most web surfers use IE because it's built into their OS.. how they do this? nah.. it's a long story.. in the end, it's up to us to decide which browser to use..do we take Microsoft for their word? (it's all marketing if u ask me) or do we go for something that is transparent when it comes to source code?  i go for the latter. Quote Link to comment

pizzatraffic
Microsoft makes money from selling XP. How does Mozilla makes money if Firefox is free? http://geocities.com/pizzatraffic/mozilla.jpg  Firefox is a collaborative effort from individuals around the globe, anyone can contribute to the product (provided that you can think of a cool feature that can be added into the browser as an add-on) and you will appear as the author for that particular add-on  imagine all MTC members contributing for a common project like let say "MTC Media Player" that plays nothing but porn movies and sharing it as a free download here in the forum. Anyone who wants to use the name "MTC Media Player" into whatever marketing ads they want have to obtain a license from us (MTC) and we can charge them for that.. im afraid we won't get as rich as Micro$oft's Bill Gates though.. if you like the product of Mozilla and wanted to support them, you can always shop on their website or something.. buy ur girlfriend a bag or whatever.. hehe Quote Link to comment
