yup, basta u.s. laging nagmamadali mga tao...on the spot and on the dot. nasa plans ko palang mag bwisit...este visit sa orlando...gusto ko makita ang disneyworld! I've been to disneyland (anaheim) last 2003.

FAT? una akong nakapasok dito noong concert ni maureen mcgovern. natuwa nga ako at ganoon pala sa loob. 2nd time kong pumasok noong mag live ung "superstar" show ni ms. nora aunor. pero 80's na ito. grabe, harapharapan kong nakita siya. i can't forget that experience.

I fondly remember Ariel Ureta's show called FOR THE BOYS I think it was shown on channel 13. there was the sexy starlet (forgot her name), while dancing to the rhythm of the disco beat her left breast was expose on live broadcast. after the commercial break all that Ariel can utter was "hindi maiiwasan ang aksidente, pasensiya na po". that was around 1977-1978.

Buhay pa ata si Ariel Ureta, Ms. SunflowR. You might be thinking of someone else. As to the FAT, tayo na lang atang tumatawag doon na Folk Arts Theater. Iba na pangalan nun ngayon, pero nakakalimutan ko lagi kung ano.

 

Isa pang natatandaan ko sa 70s, yung mga Disney films ni Kurt Russel noong teen-ager pa siya, tulad ng "The computer who wore tennis shoes," "Now you see him, now you don't," at "The world's strongest man." Yung kuwento, lagi siya nagkakaroon ng extraordinary powers dahil sa aksidente sa laboratory. Kontrabida lagi si Ceasar Romero (The Joker sa Batman ni Adam West).

I danced the swing with Pia Moran once in Wherelse and she wasn't wearing undies so no lifting. Sayang, it could have been quite a show.

FAT is now known as Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas. na-ingrained na sa isipan natin ang pangalang folk arts arts kasi ito na ang nakasanayan natin nuong 70s. I still remember the opening of the folk arts theater in 1974 for the venue of MISS UNIVERSE hosted by bob barker of 'the price is right' fame. minadali ni imelda ang paggawa ng folk arts theater, ms. margie moran won the title a year before (1973) sa athens, greece. the miss universe organizers decided to held the 1974 MU in the philippines...miss amparo munoz (miss spain) won the title. miss aruba was the more popular contestant back then....nagkaruon pa siya ng movie dito 'miss arruba went to town"

During those days, the NBA was not as popular in the States as it was over here. Dito, noong-noon pa iniidolo ang mga NBA stars. Kaya noong pinakilala si Jerry West, ang lakas ng palakpakan.

Hindi lang ikaw ang madalas jan Pareng Ani. Madalas din kami jan noong college kami hanggang noong 80s. Kapag may concert noon, tumatambay lang kami sa labas ng FAT, bago tumuloy sa iba pang gimmick. Dinig naman sa labas ang tugtog kasi open air ang FAT. Favorite namin noon ay yung balot, chicharon at coke (hindi ako palainom ng beer) na nilalako ng mga vendors jan sa may breakwater.

 

Meron pa kong album ng Hotdog.

 

Napanood ko pa noon yung movie ni Ms Amparo Muñoz - Lolita. Mejo bold, may nudity sya roon. Ang ganda talaga nya.

The 1974 Miss U that was held here was kinda jinxed. The winner, Amparo Muñoz (Miss Spain), gave up her crown because she wanted to get married. Ordinarily, the crown should have been passed on to the first runner-up. That was Helen Morgan (Miss Wales). But that same year, Helen Morgan won the Miss World crown. Next in line should have been Johanna Raunio (Miss Finland). But she also got married ... to a Filipino. I don't know if they were able to get in touch with Ella Cecilia Escandon (Miss Columbia) or Maureen Ava Viera (Miss Aruba). What I remember was that the 1975 Miss Universe did not have the traditional, final walk by the outgoing Miss U. At the time, we didn't know why. Of course, those were the martial law years when we all felt rather isolated. Most of our news came from local (censored) sources.

I don't recall Johanna Raunio getting married. I think the actor (then) Raul Roa had a brief relationship with her. But Maureen Ava Vieira did get hitched to a guy surnamed Ysmael. Di rin ata tumagal ang samahan nila.

may nabasa ako tungkol kay ms. universe 74. siya raw ung ms. universe na hindi natapos ung reign at naging porn star. may frontal nude pic niya akong nakita doon sa site na yun. yun nga, nakagawa siya ng isang pelikula. tapos na involved siya sa isang slapping incident and scandal involving money.

 

may isang tao naman nagdepensa sa kanya na hindi naman daw totoo na porn star siya at nakagawa ng porn movie kundi isa siyang respected actress sa spain. may prob lang daw siya sa drugs and maraming siyang mga personal na mga probs. sabi pa ng nag depensa sa kanya, 15 days just after winning the title, ayaw na niya kaya lang na forced siyang hawakan ung title for 6 months. she won ms universe and renounced because of the way she was treated as an object. pissed off daw siya.

I believe that slapping incident and the money scandal happened here sa PI. She returned some years ago and made a movie with Gloria Diaz.

Ako may mga naidate na naging contestant! Hindi ko sasabihin kung sinu-sino. Meron pa nga akong tinanggihang i-date na naging runner-up sa Miss U. Hindi ko rin sasabihin kasi hindi ko siya type noon. Pero looking back sana di-nate ko siya.

 

What I really missed was being one of the escorts in the Miss Young International Pageant in 1979 which was held here in Pinas. I was sick then because of my allergic reaction to formalin (Zoology 102). Sayang daw talaga sabi nung nagrecruit sa amin, kasi I was supposed to be the escort of Miss Hawaii raw who eventually won the title. Siguro inaasar lang ako nun.
