E yung yellow mini-buses sa EDSA na sobra magpatugtog ng 8-track cartridges na pulos heavy metal rock... para daw hindi maantok yung driver. E yung pag-drive parang taxing pasuray-suray. Finally, na banned sila sa EDSA kasi traffic hazards daw.

Those jeeps can really wake up even the dead whenever they play their music in thoise days before the government cracked down on them and banned stereo systems in public UVs.

 

I remember constantly hearing Deep Purple's Machine Head album played so much--alternating with the SNF sound track......

 

It would have been alright except that the drivers did not know crap on how to setup a system-- too much tweeters and not enough midrange.

I'm on vacation in California and we had a long drive from San francisco to Los angeles with my friends from college and we were dishing OPM 70s songs. Among those we sang were Manila, Pumapatak na Naman ang Ulan, Ako'y Isang Pinoy, Ang bayan kong Pilipinas, Bayang magiliw (Lupang Hinirang) and May bagong Silang.

 

The weather is fine and hindi polluted sa San Fo. Ang ganda, nakakahinayang talaga ang Pinas.

hay naku, cellphone. wala pa nito nuong 70s kaya kapag may lakad ang barkada, paulit ulit kang pina aalala ang time ng meeting place ninyo.
