Back To The 70's

Ang tibay talaga ng galant noong araw. Ang lakas ng kaha. It was called the Colt Galant, and it was made by Chrysler, not Mitsubishi. It used a Saturn engine.

Matindi talagang humatak yang Saturn engine. Magkasabay lumabas yang Galant at lancer L type. 1600CC yung Galant, 1400cc yung Lancer. Yung in-law ko ay may dodge colt na 1600cc Saturn. Sayang napabayaan hanggang binenta. Ganda ng tindig nung colt lalo na yung 2-door.

Pards! Wag mo rin kalimutan yung Volkswagen Sakbayan. Yung korteng pang-kaskas ng yelo? Meron pa ngang Volkswagen Trakbayan diba?

That one was a classic: Classically ugly :boo:

Naalala ko pa nung early 70s ay uso yung mga car rally ala the Love bug where the contenders were the Corollas of Dante Silverio and Pocholo Ramirez and the Escort of Arthur Tuazon.

Pero much earlier pa e dominant ang mga eurocars -- beetle and minicooper.

I saw yesterday a vintage minicooper in Banawe. Cute brute

voltes V binabalik na naman ....1977 yun. marcos banned the robot animes in 1981.

yeah, used to b a loyalist  but that went down the toilet when voltes was replaced by 'chopper 1', due to pleadings from a crony who brought the stupid show from the u.s.

when i think of the 70's, it's really the music & the rock scene - the allman bros. band, derek and the dominoes, rj am, himig natin etc. and the rock concerts. that was a happening time despite martial constraints.

era of rebellion to macoy meyn. gimme five meyn.

bawal ang 1041 dito. (i.e. bawal jumingle d2)

looks like bumabalik uli ang small vehicles. sa 70s na gas rationing era, popular talaga ang small vehicles. ngayon, just like 70s songs, tv series, etc. bumabalik na naman to haunt us martial law babies

Hindi lang yun. With the news yesterday of looming gas price increases (they say an increase every week for the next month) and the hike in transportation fares to follow, I just couldn't help thinking of the classic Ariel Ureta line (which you all know, so I don't have to repeat it here) that landed him in Crame. Makabili nga ng bisikleta. Good exercise. (Patay ka nga lang sa pollution) :D

pare, biking/cycling is a good exercise, as it involves nearly all muscles and joints in the body. it strengthens stamina, sharpens the senses and enables you to explore...i understand it's hard sa manila, you must go out of town...
