Back To The 70's

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the newbies of the thread. Anybody who remember the 70s is welcome to this thread.

Pareng Hitman, where can we get those titles? Those are the top 700 disco tunes? I remember many more that are not on the list. Some are even my favorites before.

The Main Event - Barbra Streisand

Pick Up the Pieces - AWB

Music by the Commodores like Rapid Fire, Machine Gun, The Bump, Too Hot to Trot, I Feel Sanctified, etc.

You're All I Have and other songs by Pouzzez

My Cherie Amour - Crown Heights Affair

Le Freak

Disco Lullaby

Hunchback of Notre Dame

Close Encounter of the Third Kind and Star Wars - Meco

Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas

Other tunes by Voyage

Isipin ko pa yung iba

Naku, and I'm so sure you, Storm, can even give us a sample of the specific dance step for each of those 700 songs! O ano, kelan na EB? Sasayaw ka ha? :D

Pareng Storm, if you like The Commodores, get the GOLD edition of The Commodores, 2 CDs for the price of one...it has all the complete Commodores hits, from the time they were BIG in the PI up the time sans Lionel Richie. It has all those songs you mentioned above.

Ok, to refresh your memory, the 12 steps was often danced to the tune of ????

L.A. OVERTURE by The Miracles!

(same guys who gave us Ain't Nobody Straight in L.A.)

Hi mareng Liberty!

We dance the LA Walk for Overture by The Miracles.

The 12 steps became popular in 1973 with these tunes:

TSOP by MFSB

Machine Gun by The Commodores

Love is the Message by MFSB

Masterpiece by The Temptations

Walk in Rhythm

Dirty Old Man by The Three Degrees

Pick Up the Pieces by The Average White Band

Sweet and very sweet and maskipaps pa lang ang alam ko nun :D

there's a new Deodato Greatest Hits out - all the hits are there, plus some unfamiliar but equally beguiling tunes. The only bummer is that wala yung Love Island dun

Easy Rider

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Shawshank Redemption

Casablanca

Dog Day Afternoon

The Deer Hunter

Shadow of a Doubt

The Man Who Knew Too Much

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Monty Python's Life of Brian

Blazing Saddles

Talking about dance steps....

Over the weekend, I attended a reunion of my HS batch. Syempre, may sayawan. I used to be pretty good in dancing the swing. But now, I realize how few the steps are that I still remember. Geez!

Never mind the LA walk. Never mind "The Hustle". I was feeling awkward the whole night. After a few songs dancing whatever is left of my swing, I had to catch my breath. In the end, nanuod na lang ako... Hehehe :)
