archiexarchie
he will get killed. Same as if jones gets into an MMA fight with Silva. I wonder if Dana will let the Spider step into the boxing ring with Roy Jones. Quote Link to comment
o0onapstero0o
Im talking about skills. It just so happen that Silva and GSP (albeit interim) have belts, but in terms of skills, these three are in the upper echelon of MMA... But if we talk about championships, Machida is getting there, lets just hope that Dana White will not play favorites in the 205-lb. division... Somebody's telling me that Machida will be the LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION this year and will rule that division until he can fight no more, hehehehe... Anyone who wants to take a wager? hehehehe! first he has to prove his worth by beating bignames in his division... ortiz, liddell, silva or even evans! after he beat these guys then we can safely say that he's on GSP and a.silva's level in terms of "SKILLS". machida will be the next LHW Champ if rampage quit MMA or retire. IMHO! Quote Link to comment

Kyle_Rayner
On Machida vs. Ortiz... Kay Lyoto ako dito. So far di ko pa nakitang nagpanic mode si Lyoto sa mga laban nya. He's got good grappling, striking skills and I think he'll dominate Tito. Quote Link to comment
fatso8
Kurt Angle vs Randy Couture later this year in a grappling match! baka mag-sign din daw si Angle sa UFC, pero he admitted na di pa sya ready sa MMA. Quote Link to comment

o0onapstero0o
machida vs ortiz. i'll pick ortiz anytime of the day! he wont just fight and live another day, this time if he losses there goes all his effort to become the face of UFC for the longest time plus the fact that this'll be his last fight in UFC makes it more interesting. hardtohandle
first he has to prove his worth by beating bignames in his division... ortiz, liddell, silva or even evans! after he beat these guys then we can safely say that he's on GSP and a.silva's level in terms of "SKILLS". machida will be the next LHW Champ if rampage quit MMA or retire. IMHO! Thats the problem! He has to prove his worth just because he doesnt came from the defunct PRIDE FC... Rampage got a title shot on his second fight, Hendo got a title shot in as many fight as he had with the UFC, same with Big Nog... So, if proving his self by beating big names just to get a title shot in the UFC, then we would not see it coming for Machida by virtue of underratedness and "boring" showmanship, or lack of it... And, Oh! the SKILLS... If a 4 straight wins, with a recent submission win against a fighter from PRIDE so overrated to the point of considering him a God, is not a showcase of skills, then bring on the big names... And if a 12-0 MMA record (with wins against Rich Franklin, BJ Penn and Stephan Bonnar) is not skills that is on a higher level, I dont know what is the proper term for that... But it doesnt even have to take a Machida to dethrone Rampage, though... Quote Link to comment

Olympus
If Machida beats Ortiz, it may be saf to say that he may get a crack at the title. Quote Link to comment

Aging Rich Franklin?!?!? You gotta be kidding me. Figure this out: Rich Franklin only has 3 losses, so far, in his career... Lyoto is the first fighter, and the only one aside from the Spider, to KTFO Franklin and made him a damaged goods, and that was way back in 2003, when Rich was making a name for himself and was considered in MMA as a demigod... And up to now, I dont think Rich Franklin is aging, he is one of the best American fighter in MMA today... As with BJ Penn, well, fights are made by weight class not by height. so, if we say that BJ lose to Lyoto because he is small, how come Fedor won over Hong Man Choi? Or how Big Nog won over Sylvia? but I have to agree that he has to prove his worth (thats the least he could do because he doesnt came from PRIDE). And to say that Lyoto is pound-for-pound the best MMA fighter in the world would be pretty pre-empting, I will just let Machida talk the talk and walk the walk and turn you all into a believer come May 24... And dont tell me I did not warn you not to place your money against the Dragon, hehehehhehe! To be honest, I feel sorry for Tito... Quote Link to comment
